Selling Out some of our coached sessions

It’s great to see that our swim sessions are getting very popular with Sun Lane selling out for the last 2 weeks.

We want to explain how the booking system works and what happens when a session sells out and what it means for you.

Sessions go on sale 7 days before the date of the next session.

All sales are on a first come first served basis to paid up members and people on a taster membership.

Once a session is sold out you will get a notification that you are on a waiting list. The system will allow you process your payment, but the money will not be taken.

If a place becomes free you will get an email informing you of the booking, a payment will be taken automatically.

If you do not get this email please do not turn up at the session as we will have to stop you from participating as our numbers are limited in agreements with the venues.

If you book the session and cannot attend please let us know on Whatsapp or email as soon as possible. (Before 9pm on Friday for Sun lane) For sold out sessions we will release the space to the next person on the waiting list and transfer your booking to another session. If the session is not sold out we cannot refund or transfer your booking to another session.

Remember we have 2 other swim sessions held on Thursday nights at Pontefract and Scissett. These are also popular although you can usually get a place but we recommend you book early.

EXCITING NEWS! Our café is getting a full refurbishment and redesign!

To make it happen, the café will close temporarily from Monday 17 November, reopening on 28 November - just in time for Christmas treats and festive catch-ups. 🎄

While work is underway, you’ll still be able to grab your favourite drinks and snacks:

☕ Grab & Go – open daily with the same great coffee, hot drinks, and light bites.
🍕 Pizza trailer – open 10am–4pm for drinks and snacks, with pizzas served from 12 noon.
🪑 Outdoor seating will remain open so you can still relax and soak up the courtyard atmosphere.

Thank you for bearing with us while we give the space a well-deserved (and long awaited) refurb. We can’t wait to welcome you back to a brighter, slicker, more beautiful café - complete with those gorgeous new green hexagon tiles, chosen to complement Nostell’s historic charm.

🏃‍♀️ Lift the Curfew Run – Wakefield Tri Club 🏃‍♂️

We’re joining the Lift the Curfew campaign on Friday 21st November at 6:00pm! 🌙✨
📍 Meet: Starbucks, Doncaster Road
🏃‍♀️ Distance: up to 5K
☕ Finish: Coffee & cake afterwards

What’s it all about?
Lift the Curfew is a national movement shining a light (literally!) on the idea that women should feel safe, confident and empowered to train outdoors after dark. As the nights draw in, we want to show that community, visibility and support can make a real difference — and that no one should feel restricted by the time of day. 💛

This is a no one left behind run – all paces welcome, everyone supported. It’s for men as well as women, everyone welcome to come along.

What to wear:
🌟 Bright or reflective clothing, head torches or lights – let’s light up Wakefield!
🧢 Tri Club kit if you have it
✨ Positive vibes and your brightest smile!

Let’s come together to show that we can lift the curfew together — reclaiming our right to move, connect and feel safe outdoors. And of course, we’ll finish with a well-deserved coffee and cake ☕🍰

Who’s in? Drop a ✅ below if you’re joining us!

Wakefield Triathlon Club are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our founding member, Andy Blanshard.

Andy played a pivotal role in the development of triathlon in Wakefield and was an inspiration to so many, encouraging us to achieve more than we ever thought possible. His wit, charm, and wealth of knowledge made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Andy’s family and friends at this difficult time.

With deepest sympathies

Some of our members took on the Denny Dash yesterday as part of our Summer Series.

There were some smiles and some grimaces on the hot and hilly course.

Well done to all and big thanks to Denby Dale AC for putting on another great event.
