🦅| EAGLES DEFEAT IN FINAL PRE-SEASON GAME

With 2 weeks to go till the start of the season, the Eagles headed into their final pre-season fixture with a long absentee list but aimed to get some well needed minutes into the legs.

It was a positive start, with both sides sounding each other out in the opening periods and neither side finding a clear break until a long ball over the top caught the defence out, eventually finished by our visitors before a period of chaos in the defence followed by an unlucky mis-kick from the Eagles stand in GK saw the visitors find the back of the net from way out.

We headed into half time 2-0 down as some knocks and injuries started to pile up, as the visitors found a 3rd with a long range shot and shortly later a 4th from a tight angle. The Eagles aimed to keep pushing in the game despite the magnitude of change but the closing periods saw limited opportunities for either side. In the final instance of the game, we finally broke the opposition keeper down after his many saves in the 90 as Walker found the bottom corner to break the duck.

Not the scoreline we wanted but some valuable minutes in the legs ahead of the start of the season.

🦅 | MATCH DAY

It’s match day again and the Eagles head into their final friendly of pre-season as we take on fellow Premier League side Neville Hill.

With the Eagles a touch depleted towards the end of pre-season, today’s friendly gives a good chance for the lads to feel out a new side who we’ll face this season whilst trying out some new combinations - swipe right to see today’s squad!

Kick off is 2:30pm at East Ardsley Recreatiom Ground, WF32AP. Don’t miss it!

🦅| EAGLES ECLIPSED BY STRONG SOUTH LEEDS SIDE

A day to forget in pre-season. Hard to sum that one up really.

A very slow start led to about 10 minutes of chaos as the visitors punished every lapse in concentration which led the Eagles to be derailed before they’d even started. A stronger period helped us settle down which was capped off by Davis deciding to rifle a free kick in from his own half. We stepped off the pace again and another few lapses of judgement saw us in the sheds 5-1 down.

The lads came out more composed in the second half but not at the races in terms of the football we’re used to playing, with chances been few and far between against a good quality side.

Not much more to it, lots to learn from and put behind us ahead of our third and final friendly next week.

🦅| MATCH DAY

The Eagles are back in pre-season action tonight hoping to eclipse last weeks performance (pun intended) as we look to continue our improvements throughout pre-season.

Despite the result, the Eagles put on a promising show against Featherstone Rovers with some new combinations bedding in, as we play host today to Yorkshire Amateur Side, South Leeds Reserves, in what will be another stern test.

🦅| EAGLES TO PLAY IN PREMIER LEAGUE IN 26/27

Following an outstanding season in which the Eagles finished 4th in division one, and after numerous reshuffles across the leagues, we are delighted to confirm that East Ardsley FC will be a Premier League club in 26/27!

Despite not the original promotion we envisioned, the Eagles are incredibly proud to have reached the Premier League in only our third season as a club. We know a tough test lies ahead but we are well up for the battle, especially after facing off against fellow Premier League sides in the Jim Callaghan Cup run last season.

We can't wait to see you all on the touchline very soon, shouting on the newly promoted Eagles.
