2nd XI Match Report

Vs. Windhill & Daisy Hill (A)

The 2nds made the trip to Windhill on Saturday. Having lost the toss and been put into bat, it was a tricky start on a lively wicket. With the Wrens 33-2 and another batter retired hurt, Nathan Ellis 108 One Stop Scaffolding & Netting Services LTD and Charlie Holden 29 Garden Gate Bakery rebuilt before some late hitting from Harrison Rourke 34 Madison May and Riley Hall 25 Wellness Coach Niccy Carney got the Wrens up to 231/7.

In reply, Windhill got off to an absolute flyer losing their first wicket with the score on 82 off just 8 overs. The Wrens battled hard to get back into the game largely due to 6-73 from Riley Hall. Despite their best efforts, Windhill just had too much as they went on to win by 3 wickets.

1st Team Match Report

Vs. Scholes (H)

The 1sts hosted high flying Scholes yesterday. Batting first, the Wrens found themselves 2 down early but Alfie Holden Garden Gate Bakery battled hard on his way to 39. He was joined by Shahzaib Sayeed Stumps Indoor Cricket Nets who made 58. Max Carrington Yorkshire Surfacing & Contracting Ltd. Made 21 before a late cameo of 25 from Adam Iyer 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan Leeds Wakefield Nicola got the Wrens up to 225 all out.

In reply, Zain Ali struck early taking 2-29 before the spinners took over with Adam Iyer 2-60 and Sam Anderson 3-93 Thornton Jones Solicitors giving the Wrens hope. With 12 runs needed and 2 wickets left, Alfie Holden 3-28 struck twice in 2 balls to give the Wrens victory by 11 runs.

Sunday Development XI Match Report

Vs. Yeadon (A)

The Development XI visited Yeadon yesterday, bowling first, George Braim impressed taking 3-20 early on. Following a good partnership featuring one of Yeadons young guns, the score was flowing. Charlie Holden 3-38 Garden Gate Bakery picked up wickets to stem the tide before Seth Fortas returned to pick up 2-38. Yeadon finishing 207/8

In reply, the Wrens were struggling at 62-5 before the under 12 debutant partnership of Finlay Brown and Max Butcher put on 57 for the 6th wicket. Max departed for 12 but Finlay carried on reaching a maiden senior 50 on debut. He went on to finish 71 not out, with the Wrens finishing 163/8. A loss by 44 runs but a great day for the youngest members of the Wrens squad.

2nd XI Match Report

Vs. Buttershaw SP (H)

The 2nds hosted Buttershaw yesterday. Bowling first, the Wrens were on the backfoot with Butteshaw flying at 88-1 in 15 overs. The Wrens fought back with some tight bowling. With the batters under increasing pressure to score, Antony Wilkinson (Sponsored by John Naylor) cashed in with an impressive 4-36 as the Wrens bowled out Buttershaw for 152.

In reply, despite the loss of an early wicket, it was the Craig Wright (Sponsored by S & J Marshall Entrepreneurs) show. He made 72 not out in anchoring the chase with support from Dave Englefield 29 (Sponsored by Spirit Primary Care) and Charlie Holden 21 not out Garden Gate Bakery as the Wrens went on to win by 8 wickets.
