Under 15 Match Report
Vs. Altofts (A)
Sponsored by Vantage Toyota Wakefield
Wrenthorpe u15's made the trip to Altofts for our HW League game on Monday evening. We regularly talk to the team about consistency, and as the coin went up we consistently called the wrong side. Fielding first we set about tight fielding stopping any easy runs and hitting line & length. George B picking up a wicket as he and Joshua kept it tight in the opening exchanges. Next up Henry and Oli continued to keep it tight and when the was a chance of a run, the fielding was on top form keeping boundaries to a minimum, Adhi finding himself busy for a few overs as the ball followed him but he stopped everything. Ben also claimed a wicket as we restricted the opposition to 85-2 from their 20 overs.
George B and Henry quickly got the pads on and headed out to the middle, steadily knocking the ball around and pushing 1's and 2's to keep the score ticking over along with a couple of boundaries each. George 36* and Henry 34 got us within touching distance as we reached our target with 6.3 overs to spare.
Well done all and hopefully our guest umpire for the evening, none other than Mr Wrenthorpe himself Martin Stubbs, went away happy. Thanks Martin for your support.

Sunday Development XI Match Report
Vs. Hunslet Nelson (H)
The Development XI welcomed Hunslet Nelson to Bragg Lane End. Bowling first, the Wrens took a couple of early wickets but some sensible batting and good partnerships pushed the Hunslet Nelson score up. There was plenty of good bowling for not much reward as Hunslet Nelson amassed 190/4.
In reply it was very much the Holden brothers show as Alfie 80 and Charlie 88 Garden Gate Bakery did most of the damage in the chase with a partnership of 144 as the Wrens chased the target down for the loss of 2 wickets 🏏.
Under 13 Match Report
Vs. Pledwick (H)
Sponsored by ABPodiatry
Next in the Wakefield League, the Under 13s welcomed a strong Pledwick side to Bragg Lane End.
Bowling first, the Wrens put in a gritty display against a deep lineup. Charlie B, Joel, Nicholas, James all picking up a wicket with Charlie L taking 2 and Toby taking 3 to wrap up the innings on 130 all out. A magnificent catch by James ending the innings before further damage could be done.
In reply, a solid start from Haadi 21 and Harry 25 got runs on the board, but with the Wrens behind the rate, the chase was looking difficult. Despite the efforts of Max 17, Charlie B 21no and Charlie L 16no. The Wrens ended 108/3 and a loss by 22 runs.

1st Team Match Report
Vs. Scholes (A)
After a delayed start, the match was reduced to 30 overs per side. Batting first, opener Patrick Forrest (Sponsored by Wrenthorpe Ultras) continued his fine form with 54. He was well supported with contributions from Shahzaib Sayeed 22 Stumps Indoor Cricket Nets , Janu Wewalwala 36 Yorkshire Surfacing & Contracting Ltd. And Sam Anderson 27 Thornton Jones Solicitors as the Wrens amassed 180/9.
In reply, wickets were hard to come by and despite managing to take 4 of them, Scholes completed a classy run chase to win by 6 wickets.
