We’re looking for ambitious, energetic and experienced coaches to join our growing junior section.

These are paid opportunities for qualified coaches who want to develop young players, raise standards and make a genuine impact within a supportive, forward-looking club.

Current vacancies include:

U16 girls – Mondays, 7.15–8.45pm
U16 boys – Mondays, 7.15–8.45pm
U14 girls – Mondays, 5.45–7.15pm
U8s and Mugaroos – Sundays, 9–10am
Junior goalkeeping coach – times to be arranged
Junior lead coach – leading coaching and player development across the junior section

Congratulations to Rob Crosse and Thomas Shaw for their selection for the England squad at the first FIH Para Hockey World Cup next month. The Para Hockey World Cup is the culmination of our very own Norman Hughes passion and determination to provide world class opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities. Played alongside the World Cup in Belgium and Holland next month the England team is in pool B and will face India Argentina, Malaysia, Chile Bulgaria, Spain and the Netherlands in Amsterdam. Rob and Tom head out to Holland on August 18th alongside Lochlann Kaye, England Coach, Jayne Crosse, England Team Manager and Helen Royan who will be one of the technical officials.

🏆Wakefield Ladies 1st Indoor Team were winners of the Derby Grand Slam 2026 - unbeaten in all 6 matches 🏆

Our indoor performance programme has gone from strength to strength this season. If you are interested in playing for WHC in the 26/27 season please get in touch!

Last weekend we hosted the Masters Hockey Women’s Over 65s Area Tournament. A fantastic display of masters hockey over the two days, a great time was had by all!

Congratulations to Beth, Betsy, Sophie, Lexi and Jemima - 5 of our Ladies 1st team players who became national final winners yesterday playing for Leeds HC U18s in the England Hockey Tier 2 Cup. We’re super proud of these girls representing Wakefield for their senior hockey, attending our performance squad training and playing Saturday matches for the 1st team. Well done girls on your achievements this season!
