Old Sharlston 230-9 beat Calder Grove 156 all out by 74 runs
A much-needed return to winning ways for the 1st XI with a strong all-round performance at Old Sharlston.
After electing to bat, Brayden Pickard (36) and Richard Scott (26) provided a patient opening platform with a 72-run partnership. Ramith Rajan then injected some momentum with 34 from just 29 balls, while Ryan Kelsall made 26 and Liam Keating added 27.
At 181-8 there was still work to do, but Ajit Sukumaran (22) and Dave Taylor (14)** helped push the total to an imposing 230-9 from 46 overs.
Calder Groveβs chase was then kept under control. Ramith Rajan took three wickets, before Berlin Bernadin struck three times in just four overs. Ryan Kelsall and Brendan Norton also picked up wickets, while Dave Taylor contributed to two dismissals in the field.
Calder Grove were dismissed for 156, sealing a comprehensive 74-run victory and a maximum 16 league points.

No action for the 2s this week after Hemsworth were unable to fulfil the fixture.
The result gives Old Sharlston the full 16 league points, with Hemsworth receiving -5.

π OLD SHARLSTON CC | SATURDAY ROUND-UP
A mixed Saturday for Old Sharlston, with a difficult afternoon for the 1st XI at South Kirkby but a convincing victory for the 2nd XI back at Old Sharlston.
π΅ 1ST XI | SOUTH KIRKBY 95-5 beat OLD SHARLSTON 91 by 5 wickets
A day to forget with the bat for the 1st XI.
After reaching 25 without loss, Sharlston collapsed to 39-6 and never really recovered. Rudolph Keyser top scored with 14, with Danny Bullock and Richard Scott both making 12, as the innings ended on 91 all out from 30.3 overs.
There was some fight with the ball. Dale McMullan led the response with an excellent 4-32, including three of South Kirkbyβs top four, while Jon Railton picked up 1-29.
But 91 was never likely to be enough and South Kirkby completed the chase at 95-5 from 18.4 overs.

π‘ 2ND XI | OLD SHARLSTON 175-7 beat CALDER GROVE 102 by 73 runs
A much better afternoon at Old Sharlston as the 2nd XI produced a comprehensive all-round performance.
The innings belonged to Dave Taylor, who struck a superb 86 from 97 balls, including 12 fours and a six. Oscar Cocliff Clarke added 27, before Alfie Pickersgillβs unbeaten 24 helped Sharlston post 175-7 from 40 overs.
Then the bowlers went to work.
π₯ Jake Parkinson ripped through the Calder Grove top order, finishing with 4-14 from seven overs. Ben Wilkinson and Corey Dooler took two wickets each as the visitors were dismissed for 102 in just 26 overs.
A convincing 73-run victory and another maximum-points afternoon for the 2s.
