At The Gym Group we’re honouring BlackHistoryMonth by passing the
mic to black artists.
This year’s theme is ‘time for change: action not words,’ and signifies not only a
time to acknowledge the contributions of black people within the UK, but for
continued action to ensure black history and people are represented within media
and wider society.
At The Gym Group we want to provide an opportunity to uplift black voices,
celebrating a selection of both up & coming and established black artists in a
playlist for our members.
You can listen and download The Gym Group’s Black History Month playlist by
clicking the link in the bio of our national account .

Pulling a funny gym face?
Gym groupers, we’ve got news for you… let’s welcome those gym faces with open arms (or open eyes).
Evidence suggests that those involuntary face pulls are actually designed to improve performance, for example, jaw clenching can increase grip strength by up to 16% (who would’ve guessed it!)
So how does it work, you may ask? When the area of the brain that’s responsible for these facial expressions is firing up, this can prime other areas of the brain which are responsible for your other moving parts, how cool.
Gym Face > Straight Face any day.
