🏆Valley update🏆 - following the last games of the hockey league for this season, we’re absolutely buzzing to say we finished in 4th place!! It’s been one hell of a season!! We’ve found ourselves with cancelled games due to weather and Covid, rocking up to away games with 8 or 9 players and having our difficulties recruiting new players into our team. Never the less, in true valley style, we turned up and always played our best!!🏑 thank you to all our players and supporters for being on our 21/22 season journey! We can’t wait to get stuck into next season in the coming months. End of season hockey do is next thing on the CVLHC calendar🥂 - here’s a few team pics and highlights from 21/22 💙

Last game of the season and final win of the season!!! 🏑 Valley starting on the back foot on a scorching hot day with 10 players and no goal keeper. Kay stepped up to play in goal for the first half. Valley looked the stronger side with a lot of attacking play leading to a well deserved goal from Emma. Valley quickly went 2-1 down with a goal from Selby followed by a penalty flick. Luckily some more good passing from Valley led to another goal from Ruth making it even going into the second half. With no goal keeper in the second half and three less players than the opposition Valley worked hard and stayed strong to convert a penalty corner from Emma and a goal from Jacs making it an unbeilable 2-4 win to Valley! What a way to end the season!🏑🤍 thank you to everyone who has supported Valley over the season. Wether that’s coming to watch us play or following our seasons journey on insta/Facebook. We can’t wait to see what the next season holds! We’re still waiting to see what place in the table we’ll finish, due to other teams having matches still to play. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on training and matches! 🏑

WINNERS!!! Last home game of the season against top of the league Wakefield! Glorious day for it and we have some fans join us today too!☀️ both sides started off strong and it seemed even for the first 10 / 15 mins. Valley kept attacking and committing people forward. Valleys hard work paid off with a goal from Emma making it 1-0! Wakefield came back strong to equalise just before half time. Valley were given a short corner just before the first half was up, and beautiful goal from jacs led us going into half time 2-1 up. We knew we’d have to be strong coming back into the second half and continue to push and keep up the tempo. Ruth went one on one with the keeper and lifted it over, where Hannah P tapped it in to get the 3rd goal. Wakefield continue to push but valley were on top form both defensively and attacking. That led us to 4th and final goal by Emma!! 4-1 against top of league, who had only lost 1 game all season before today. Amazing home win and calls for celebrations!!!

Winners !!! 🏑 it’s been a little quiet on here for the last few weeks….however today we travelled to Sheffield Uni Bankers. It was an intense game from start to finish. Valley had some great attacking chances in the first half and went into half time at 0-1 up. We went straight into the second half wanting to secure the lead with another goal… valley continued to press, to go 0-2 up thanks to 🎉. The game continued to be fast paced, with Sheffield taking back possession for the last 10 mins of the game and continuing to press - but couldn’t beat the valley defence or keeper 👊🏼👊🏼 love an away win!! Next week is our last home game of the season : 19th March 13:30 v Wakefield #0-2

Today we traveled to Thirsk to play Northallerton! We seem to have had nothing but crazy weather recently and today was no exception!! It was a cold, wet and snowy one ❄️ valley with only 9 players, did incredibly well and we were gutted to say the least, to not get any points from todays match. Incredible effort from the team, who all played with a huge amount of energy, constant attacking and some lovely hockey - but unfortunately it wasn’t our day. Although we lost, we came away very proud of our performance and effort! Next match : 26th Feb at home against Doncaster. Come on valley!!! We’re ready for a win!!🏑

Valley played at home today against Doncaster. It was certainly a challenging game, with awful weather conditions!! But In true hockey fashion, we all ploughed through!! Valley came from behind to go into half time at 1-1. We wanted to come back in the second half and push for a win. After going 1-2 down within the first 10 mins of the second half, valley needed to pick it back up and do what we do best, lots of passing and communication. That’s exactly what we did and we secured a win!!! Final score being 4-2. Great game today and felt good to come away with a win!🏑🌟 hopefully the weather is kinder to us next week! Next match : Leeds away at Weetwood.
