Wakefield Flyerz

We're proud of all of our players and it's great to see some new people being able to take on this opportunity to play in a new arena. A big step forward for Hockey ID in England.

Last Sunday four of our Flyerz attended the first ever England Hockey, Hockey ID get together. Thomas Shaw, Ed Barrett, James Playford and Rob Crosse travelled down to Peterborough to meet up with Flyerz from the Midlands, South East, London, and East regions.

Despite the driving rain the games were very competitive and played with great spirit with lots of smiles and skills on display.

The event was supported by Helen Royan who brought her experience of umpiring Hockey ID at the Special Olympics World Games and European Championships, and Lochlann Kaye and Jayne Crosse who coached all players and teams. Great to see such brilliant representation from WHC at what feels like another milestone achievement for Hockey ID!

Flyerz Hockey Festival 2025

London Wayfarers Hockey Club, England Hockey and Access Sport are inviting all our Flyerz from across the UK to play and enjoy hockey together.

Players will have the opportunity to learn new hockey skills with our experienced coaches. We’re also inviting new participants of all ages who haven’t played hockey before, to try hockey for the first time and join their local Flyerz club.
