Starting something new can be hard, but we have to have a reason why…and when it comes to our health we have to think enough about ourselves to think we’re worth it.
started with us originally with 3 main goals
1. Help recover from COVID
2. Lose weight
3. Tone up

Over 5 years later (and training consistently) her goals have changed…her main 3 now are
1. Help control menopause symptoms
2. Help support her Netball for performance and injury prevention
3. Build and maintain muscle mass: short term, to continue her to be able to run through a busy train station with a suitcase of alcohol for girls trips away!
Long term: to help her get herself from the toilet as she ages! 💪😂

Genuine real life goals!
But the reality is, we all need a reason that’s important enough for us to take a positive step towards a healthier lifestyle.

Age is just a number…💪

First off, happy (75th) birthday Sue!

We probably don’t give this group the credit it deserves, all in their 70’s (and 1 almost 80!). They have got a great group together now (usually 8 of them), they meet every week, train together and follow it up with a brew at the and a catch up (they also usually have a brew before as well to be fair!😂).

So hopefully this will inspire you to get out there and keep moving, meeting new people and keeping healthy!

Remember, we’re all too old not to start training! (However old we are 💪)

Andy has been a gym member for 4 years now (also celebrating 4 years sober) 💪 legend…and Molly who’s the SJ gym mascot turns 3 today ❤️

Your current age doesn’t matter…..

Your current weight doesn’t matter…..

Your current fitness levels don’t matter…..

What does matter is you make a change, start now, and stick to it, we have had members as old as 80 start training with us and are feeling great, their only wish…..they had started sooner 😳

We have had people start with rock bottom fitness levels, who are now completing 5 and 10k runs 🏃🏼‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

People who were struggling doing bodyweight exercises who are now Deadlifting and squatting weights they never thought possible 💪

Obviously we know everyone can’t come to our gym, this is not a “join us” post, it’s trying to encourage you to start somewhere, anywhere you like, just start. Do not fear it embrace it 😁

Enjoy the feeling of accomplishment 🙏
