My guy Stu right here, leading from the front and showing all you parents how out there that your goals/health shouldn’t be parked just because you now have kids and more responsibilities

A Dad of 2 who’s now that example / role model to his kids that he’s always wanted to be

And that all because he respected himself enough to make a change

If not for himself, for his kids who need him around as long as possible

Your family/kids shouldn’t be an excuse not to start, they should be your fire to go all in on being the best version of yourself that you can

“You’ve changed”… Good, that’s the idea!

Have you ever been subject to comments like this before when you’ve been working towards your goals?

Y’know, that pushback from friends, family or even your colleagues at work?

“You’ve changed”

“You used to be so much fun”

“You don’t need to lose weight”

“Go on, another won’t hurt”

“You’re looking a bit too skinny”

“Live a little”

Sound familiar?

Comments like these don’t half leave you feeling deflated, don’t they?

You’ve been working so hard, only to feel like that support / encouragement isn’t there from those who you expected it from the most

Now, if these opinions become all too consuming, you run a massive risk of starting to align your decisions with theirs, to what they think you ‘should’ be doing instead

So in order to make sure these negative comments don’t hold you back, because let’s face it, that’s all they are, here’s what I’d advise you do…

1️⃣ It’s your responsibility to help them understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. And not forgetting how it can benefit them in the process too because they are going to be having you back at your best. A lot of the time people just don’t get it yet their lack of awareness of what you’re doing can come across as putting resistance up against it so it’s on you to get them on board.

2️⃣ Get really clear on what your goals truly are and what they mean to you when you achieve them because a lot of the time, you become distracted because there isn’t any clarity with where you’re heading which allows other people to influence your next move.

3️⃣ Finally, it says more about them and their insecurities as all your positive actions are doing is holding a mirror up to what they are avoiding doing themselves. Whilst prioritising our health should be something that we all should be doing more, to some people, it’s not at the top of their agenda and that’s fine, but the fact that it is for you leaves them feeling challenged and this is when the comments come hurtling your way.

So the next time you receive comments like these, because you inevitably will, remember to stay in your own lane and just let your results do the talking

THE NO BULL APPROACH TO FAT LOSS

Some coaches do a great job of glamourising fat loss

Like it’s a piece of p**s

Like you hardly have to make any changes

And that it will only take you a few weeks to get to where you want

But that’s far from the truth

If you really want to see results then you have to make sure that your expectations and reality are on the same page

Because fat loss is not a doddle

You can’t keep “eating the foods you love” all the time and expect to lose fat

The body you’re after is not on the other side of a “21 day shred” plan either

It takes a lot of hard fu***ng work and time does this

Being consistent more than you realise

And to keep showing up for your future self in every single scenario

And yep, even on a weekend too 👀

Now, I know my advice doesn’t sound sexy, or easy or is going to break the internet but it really does work and it’s going to help you a damn sight quicker than all the other advice out there that just leaves you looking for another quick fix in a few months time

If you’re still on the fence, just have a goosey through my profile to see all the lives I.P. has helped changed following this exact no BS approach

Funny old creatures us humans, aren’t we?!

We are bloody great at deflecting responsibility

Passing the book

Blaming everything and everyone else for our lack of results

Except ourselves though, right?!

It can’t possibly have anything to do with what we are doing though

Don’t be ridiculous

So in a pursuit to confirm our own bias, we come up with these weird and wonderful excuses to make ourselves feel better

That it’s ok to have not done the thing we know deep down we really should have done

But what is all this actually achieving?

Maybe it eases the pressure for a bit

Outta sight, outta mind?

But in the long run, kicking the can down the road is just going to make the inevitable changes you are going to have to make at some point, much much harder to carry out

This is what Amy used to do before working with me

She’d put up every barrier up possible as to why she couldn’t do (insert task she’d avoid)

But what if I told you that during working with me, life ironically, got even harder and more hectic

So how the heck did she see the most progress she ever had done during this more chaotic time?

Well, to put it simply, she stepped up

Took more of that all important responsibility that she had been avoiding taking for so long

And realised that the results she was after was on the other side of the handwork that she’d been avoiding for so long

When you start trying to help yourself instead of always giving yourself a pass, truly life changing s**t starts to happen

Not just physically

But more mentality and resilience wise too

You are a lot more robust than you think

And you certainly can push the envelope harder than you’ve done before

Sometimes though, it takes someone to show you that for you to finally believe it for yourself

I’m that guy who can show you 🤝
