Rain. Wind. Wales tallest mountain And 15 brilliant people who weren’t going to let the weather spoil the day. 🏔️🌧️

We had a fantastic day in Eryri with the team from Gore Street Capital, taking the group to the summit of Yr Wyddfa.

The weather gave us a proper taste of the mountains, but the team were fantastic from start to finish — lots of laughs, plenty of encouragement and some seriously good spirits along the way.

These are the days we love at Yonder. Getting teams out of the office, into the mountains and giving them an experience they’ll be talking about long after they’ve gone back to their desks.

The Snowdon Horseshoe is widely considered one of the best mountain routes in the UK, combining hiking, scrambling, and some of the most dramatic ridge walking in Wales.
Starting in Eryri National Park, this classic route takes in Crib Goch, Garnedd Ugain, and the summit of Yr Wyddfa, offering incredible views and a real sense of exposure throughout. It’s not just a walk — it’s a full mountain experience that requires confidence, good conditions, and preparation.
At around 11km with over 1,000 metres of elevation gain, the Snowdon Horseshoe is a challenging but rewarding day out for experienced hikers and those looking to step into scrambling terrain.

What started as a passion for the outdoors has grown into a professional adventure company guiding people through some of the UK’s most incredible landscapes.

Modern Mountain Navigation: Apps, Maps… or Both?
Mountain navigation has changed dramatically over the last decade. Where once a paper map and compass were essential, many walkers now head into the hills with nothing more than a smartphone and a navigation app.

Search forums like Reddit and you’ll see the same questions asked repeatedly:

Are hiking apps reliable in the UK mountains?

Do I still need map and compass skills?

What happens if my phone dies?

The short answer? Both approaches have value — but neither works well without proper understanding.

At Yonder Adventure Company, we teach navigation in real mountain environments, helping people learn how to use apps and traditional skills together, safely and confidently.
