Yesterday the Tri group enjoyed a social run of just over 9km, running from Woodcote down to South Stoke and back again. This was a brilliant opportunity with it being our monthly social run to announce who the member of the month was πŸ’™

Drum roll….

πŸ† Member of the Month – Matt! πŸ†

A huge congratulations to Matt, our Member of the Month!

Matt received multiple nominations in recognition of the incredible amount of work he’s put into the club recently. From tackling the challenge of making our open water swim system run smoothly, to stepping up and helping wherever needed (including pulling pints at the AGM!), his commitment and willingness to get stuck in have not gone unnoticed.

What makes Matt’s efforts even more impressive is that he’s been balancing all of this while training hard himself and completing a half-distance event in challenging heat. His dedication behind the scenes has helped create opportunities for so many club members to train, race and enjoy the sport.

We’d also like to give a shout-out to our other nominees:

πŸ‘ Bob for his continued support of newer riders and helping members develop their bike handling skills.

πŸ‘ Liam for his consistency in training, achieving his longest-ever pool swim of 1km, and helping create a positive and competitive training environment.

πŸ‘ Ryan for showing incredible determination in taking on Dorney Sprint Tri with limited swim experience, battling through the swim cut-off and never giving up, as well as pushing through at Stinger despite being unwell.

πŸ‘ Filipe for being a fantastic new club member and always being willing to help others.

Thank you to everyone who was nominated and to all our members who continue to make the club such a supportive and welcoming community.

Congratulations again, Matt – a very well-deserved Member of the Month! πŸ†

πŸ† Member of the Month – Congratulations Liam! πŸ†

As a newer member, Liam has thrown himself into the club , getting stuck into the fun swimming gala with no hesitation, making huge progress in a short space of time, and always bringing great energy and enthusiasm.

What stood out most in his nominations was the support he gives others. He’s always there with advice, encouragement, and help for newer swimmers, making people feel welcome and giving them the confidence to keep going and improve.

A huge congratulations, Liam - very well deserved! πŸ‘

We also want to give a big shoutout to our other fantastic nominations this month:

πŸ‘ Felipe - for going out of his way to help with a bike issue that even the bike shop had missed, quickly finding the problem, explaining it clearly, and sharing extra tips to help keep things running smoothly in future.

πŸ‘ Bob - for the constant support, endless encouragement, and for being such a positive part of someone’s new journey.

Thank you all for making such a difference to the club! πŸ’™
