Lions had a great day at walsall fc today- coaching session and watching the game # # #

So today guys our second league game and you didn't disappoint- things we worked in on training Monday you brought to today's game- you have given us lots to work on again but most things will only improve with more game experience- fitness was still proving to be a difficult challenge for many players- given that majority of players put everything into it today-
Final score 7-1 and again for me the result didn't actually show what was happening on the pitch it wasn't for alot of time a one sided game- we battled well and proved on many occasions the potential we have with small bouts of good passing football- many of the goals came from not clearing our area/lines especially from corners but this will come-

Parents player- cannot fault the 100 percent effort this lad put on today, some great challenges and positioning so much better, just shows what effort and listening can do, well done Louis keep it up 👍👍

Coaches player was George- some fantastic saves in goal and good direction given to other players as captain and again 100 percent effort throughout well done 👍👍
Managers player- Tyson really stepped up in todays game, getting lots of challenges in and really did put his all into it well done👍👍

Well done to all the team we keep going, we keep trying and we will improve 👍

So today saw the lions play in their first competitive league game- we started quite slow and nerves we're showing-after 10/15 minutes we started to get into it and had a few attempts on goal- half time score 4-0- we then went into the second half with the weather absolutely awful and unfortunately again fitness proved to be our biggest battle- message from me at half time was lets just enjoy it keep trying and lets get a goal, and the lion's exceeded this expectation and scored 2 in the second half- final score 9-2 to Hamstead.
Everyone gave it their all today and as a manager you can't ask for more, its been a positive starting point and given myself and Tyler lots to think about moving forward.
Parents player- Shay- played left back for me today not his favoured position as he is right footed but he played really well and got stuck in, held his position and worked really hard-well done Shay.
Coaches player- Oliver- what can i say today, he played right back first half and after he had settled for five minutes he did prove to me and himself that he has great potential there, but equally second half and played midfield and upfront for part and bagged himself a great goal with his work rate continuing throughout the game, well done Oliver.
Finally-managers player- Emily- worked so hard and gave it her all for the whole game not once giving up and even listening to instructions from the sideline and taking on board what was said, did some great clearances well done Emily.

Special mentions....

Bobby- he was nervous to play but these nerves soon went as he came on as sub ten minutes into the game and absolutely gave it his all battled to the end and was running from one end of the pitch to another, well done Bobby👍

George- honestly his whole attitude and effort was fantastic today and very close to getting a trophy, made some great saves when in goal, especially diving to his left at the end of the game to stop it going into double figures, also tried hard when playing out, well done George 👍
Harley- honestly Harley i was in prime position for his goal and it was top class standard as he looked up and saw the space to his right hand side of the goal hitting it from the left with the outside of his foot- amazing well done matey

Played our second ever game tonight and to say I'm super proud of the team is an understatement. Improved so much from the first game. We didn't win but that doesn't matter because we won in other ways that are far more important. Playing as a team, effort was amazing and played with a great attitude the right way!!!
Well done to our players of the match, Harley, Billy and George.

Well today saw the Lions play their first ever game of football against a local well deserving winning team..... We did not get the result but that didn't matter it was about this group of players experiencing their first ever game and every single one of them made me proud in so many different ways.... The main reason is their effort and 'never giving up' attitude....
After just a few weeks of training you should all be so so proud of yourselves👍👍
