Reedswood park open air swimming baths

I WANT TO BRING THIS TO EVERYONES ATTENTION
I attended a meeting yesterday that brought to light that the council are allowing/consideration to green space areas of Walsall to be sold off for development the Reedswood / Birchills boundary is under threat of this development and that includes the whole of Reedswood Park, Pouk Hill public open space, Public open space located North of Churchill Road opposite the Jane Lane School.
This has been done on the quiet and nobody in the area was informed as it has been hidden under the Walsall Spatial Strategy Plan of the emerging Black Country Plan Review
Due to this we have little time to meet the proposed deadline which is 11/10/21

These areas as explained in the meeting are natural green space sensitivity, critical public open space importance for local residents, and urban green lung sensitivity helping to significantly reduce harmful levels of air pollution and reducing noise from the M6 motorway network. Once these areas are gone they are gone forever.

Please note Reedswood park baths closed in the late 1980's and are no longer open .

I have been asked to put this article on the decline of the British lido back on this page. Photographs are not of Reedswood lido and there is no reference of Reedswood lido but a lot of members found the article interesting.

Have removed article regarding British lidos as it was causing confusion as it didn't have a photo of Reedswood lido on it . If any member wishes to read this informative article on the sad loss of 300 lidos over the years please message me and I will send you the link.

Have been receiving messages asking for opening hours for the baths. Please be advised these baths closed in the mid eighties and are no longer open .

Hi everyone receiving numerous messages regarding Reedswood page.. Yes I am aware there is a spelling error however set page up about 8 years ago and because there are over 1000 members I am unable to change name. I can close page down if it what members want however all posts will be lost.
