At the Club meeting on Monday 21st September, we will be presenting the Lisa Oakden Memorial Cup to the Female Section Team of the month. This will be presented by members of Lisa's family to the deserving team.

It's quite fitting that 10 years ago today, the Ladies First Team beat Shrewsbury Town 4 - 2 to reach the third preliminary round of the Women's FA Cup, with one of the goals a fantastic effort from Lisa.

Have a look at her goal:

POPPY ORDERS NOW BEING TAKEN!!
This will be our 13th year of supporting the 2 local Royal British Legion branches in their Poppy Appeal through our stick-on poppy initiative!
In that time we have raised over £20,000 - taking not one penny from the initiative, by spending at least 100 man hours each year in the promoting, taking and processing orders, posting them to distant clubs and banking and processing payments.
In previous years, we used the 2 petal Poppy Appeal image as the background to the image design - unfortunately someone complained to RBL that we didn't have copyright and we were told last year to stop using it by them - despite us taking no profit whatsoever! We feel that this was probably a business that takes their commission and passes on a small % of the poppy sale price.
For a fleeting second, we felt that this would stop us continuing - instead we carried on supporting a fantastic cause!
Our own Poppy sticker for this year is as below - designed by Sophie Hardy. We think it's fantastic and hope you do too. Thanks so much Soph!
Our fantastic friends at Bri-Stor will produce the poppies free of charge for us - thanks once again for their support.
We are now taking orders.
Please comment or message if you'd like some for your teams to wear during their matches on Remembrance Weekend. We look for a donation of one pound per poppy, which ALL goes to The Poppy Appeal..
