British Judo are delighted to announce the appointment of Craig Anthony as our new Development Director 🥋🇬🇧

Craig brings almost 20 years of experience across the sports sector, with an extensive background in leadership, participation growth and sports development.

He joins British Judo from British Wrestling, where he has served as Chief Executive for the past seven years, and arrives at an exciting time for the organisation as we prepare to launch our new strategy.

The IBSA Judo World Championships get underway this Friday, and Dan Powell heads into the competition as the reigning World Champion. 🥇

Shaun Mark Mitty is a Veterans World Champion once again in the M6 -90kg category! 🥇🇬🇧

Mitty is now a two-time World Champion, having first won the title in 2024. After being unable to defend his crown in 2025 due to a serious injury that forced him out of the competition, he's bounced back in incredible fashion in Sarajevo to reclaim world gold 🙌

Lachlan Moorhead reacts to his outstanding Round of 16 victory over former World Champion Nemanja Majdov (SRB) at the Hungary Grand Slam 🇬🇧

Get ready for an action-packed day of team judo as the Ares Judo Championship returns on Saturday 10 October at High Wycombe Judo Centre! 🥋⚡

Some of the country’s top clubs will go head-to-head, with Budokwai, Esprit, Bath, Westcroft, Core Judo, Irish Pathway, Rush Judo and Bishops Stortford all set to battle it out on the mat.

⏰ Preliminaries: 12:00–17:00
🏆 Final Block: 19:00–21:00

Expect big throws, huge ippons and plenty of team pride as the Ares Championship makes its exciting return.
