Did you know at Culcheth tennis club we have out very own ball machine ! As one of the only clubs in the local area to have a ball machine we take great pride in providing our members the use of the ball machine.
It’s whelks and manual set up make it extremely easy to use snd set up, balls provided by the club. 🎯🎾

Family tennis 🎾 come and join us ever Sunday from 12pm for the opportunity to play tennis with your family and others. Equipment inc at just £12 an hour per family. Great opportunity to learn a new skill, spend time with your family and be having fun In the outdoors ! 🎾 see you their !

Finished of with a full English breakfasts 🍳 served in our new club house resteraunt. What’s not to love. Join us ever Sunday morning from 10am for social tennis, mixed doubles and singles. All ages and abilities welcome.

Before tennis players used rackets, people would use the palm of their hands to hit the ball back and forth over the net.

People in the 12th century suffered from swollen and red hands in a game called ”jeu de paume” meaning “game of the palm.” It was not until the 16th century that racquets were used.

- Before yellow tennis balls, they were white.

It wasn’t until Wimbledon in 1986 when yellow tennis balls were used. Officials believed that a yellow ball would be easier for spectators to follow on TV. .

At CTC we are very lucky to have a surplus supply of head tennis balls. We love using these balls at the club, great durability and consistency. Don’t worry if you forget your balls , we also sell the balls in the club for £4 a tube which is an absolute bargain !

Did you know at CTC we have four all weather artificial grass tennis courts which have just had a recent refurb and are regularly maintained by our grounds man; new nets, posts, lights, sand infills. .
