What a game of rugby!

Both sides gave absolutely everything from the first whistle to the last in a fiercely contested match that could have gone either way. The Greens went into half-time with the advantage after a fantastic first-half performance, showing great character, determination and teamwork.

Credit to Blackbrook Royals, who battled back in the second half and just edged the result in the closing stages.

While the scoreline didn’t fall our way, we couldn’t be prouder of the rugby on show and the effort every single lad put in. The commitment, grit and heart displayed by this team was outstanding, and they left everything out on the field for the club.

There are plenty of positives to take from today’s performance. We learn, we improve, and we move forward together.

The journey continues and we’ll be back stronger, wiser and ready for the next challenge.

What a performance from our Greens today! The lads showed incredible determination, resilience and teamwork to come away with a hard-fought victory against a very strong Heysham side.

Every player gave absolutely everything for the badge, digging deep when it mattered most and showing the character that makes this team so special. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort, commitment and heart shown by every single one of them.

The win sees us through to the next round of the North West Cup, and the boys will continue to fight, compete and give their all as they look to keep their cup journey alive.

A huge thank you to all the parents, families and supporters who travelled and cheered the lads on. Your support never goes unnoticed.

Yesterday showed what being part of a team is all about. 💚🏉

During our match, one of our young lads suffered a serious knock and was briefly knocked unconscious. In those frightening moments, before any adults could reach him, his teammate Jayden showed incredible bravery, maturity and quick thinking by going straight to his side, opening his mouth and checking that his tongue wasn’t blocking his airway.

For someone so young to react so calmly and selflessly in such a difficult situation was truly remarkable. We couldn’t be prouder of him. He showed courage, leadership and care beyond his years, and he is a credit to himself, his family and our club.

A huge thank you must also go to our first aiders and coaching team, who were on the scene quickly and knew exactly what to do to support and care for our injured player. Their calm, professional response helped ensure he received the attention he needed straight away.

We are also incredibly proud of the rest of the team. After seeing their teammate go down, the lads dug deep, played with heart, determination and grit, and gave everything for each other out on that field. The bond within this group is something special.

Most importantly, we’re relieved to say that after undergoing tests, our injured player is now home, resting and recovering with his family. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing his smiling face back around the club when he’s ready.

Rugby isn’t just about results – it’s about teamwork, friendship, courage and looking after one another. Yesterday, our lads showed exactly what that means.

What a performance from our Greens on home turf today! Every single player put in a huge shift and showed exactly what this team is all about – grit, determination, teamwork and heart.

The lads battled from the first whistle to the last, earning a fantastic 30-16 victory with some outstanding rugby and a real never-give-up attitude. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort, commitment and character shown by every player.

Unfortunately, one of our own got a nasty injury during the game. Everyone at Woolston Rovers is thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. We hope to see you back with the team as soon as you’re ready.
