Today we welcome Rochdale Mayfield for our final home fixture of the season!

After the boys headed to Old Trafford last night to watch Warrington in the Grand Final, we’re just hoping they didn’t take too much tactical inspiration from what they saw!

Because if the boys defend like Warrington did last night, we might as well hand Rochdale the ball, a map to the try line and a taxi home! 🤣

Hopefully they’ve taken the right lessons from Old Trafford …. how NOT to finish a game!

With just two games left, there’s still plenty to play for, and we want to finish our final home fixture with the energy, effort, big hits and tries that these boys have produced all season.

🏉💙💛 MATCHDAY WIN FOR CROSFIELDS U10s! 💛💙🏉

Well… after all the talk of “back to reality” following the all-inclusive holidays, sunshine and plenty of rest, it turns out the boys have come back absolutely FULLY CHARGED!

The legs were pumping, the tackles were flying in and the boys looked very happy to be back doing what they do best — playing rugby! 💪

And somehow, despite everyone expecting the usual Crosfields away-day weather system, the rain actually STAYED AWAY! 🌧️❌

Not only that… THE SUN CAME OUT! ☀️

Honestly, someone must have booked the wrong pitch!

Plenty of positives to take from the game, but one of the biggest was the communication on the pitch. The boys were talking to each other, supporting each other and working as a team exactly what we want to see!!

It was also brilliant to see a great mix of names on the try sheet, showing the boys are looking for each other and creating opportunities rather than relying on the same few players every week. 💙💛

A BIG shoutout to Teague on his debut! 👏🔥

He clearly didn’t believe in the whole “ease yourself into your first game” philosophy.

Teague basically decided the best way to make an entrance was to use his entire body for every single tackle!

Arms? ✔️
Legs? ✔️
Anything else that could make contact? Probably!

And finally, a massive well done to our very own team mascot Ralph! 💙💛

Ralph was out with the newbiesU6S this morning and managed to pick up Opposition Man of the Match! 👏🏆

Clearly all those weekends spent watching the U10s boys are starting to rub off! 😂💪

From standing on the sidelines watching the big boys to going out there and showing them how it’s done, what a little superstar! ⭐🏉

The future is looking bright at Crosfields!

A brilliant first game back, loads of energy, great communication, plenty of different names on the scoresheet and some fantastic individual performances.

And now… A WEEK OFF! 😎

Time to rest those legs, recover from the rugby and enjoy another week of pretending we’re still on holiday. 😂☀️

Although knowing our luck, the minute we have a week off, it’ll probably rain all weekend. 🌧️🤣

Teague makes his debut for the soap 💪💙💛
Wishing him a warm Crosfields welcome and lots of luck for his first game! Whilst Eves has to miss the trip to Merseyside due to illness! We hope you’re on the mend soon dude we will miss you but can’t wait to have you back beside us when you’re better 💪💪

🏉 MATCHDAY IS HERE! 🏉

After what felt like approximately five minutes of summer, the Crosfields U10s are back on the road today as we head to Liverpool Lions! 🦁💙💛

And because the weather clearly has a personal vendetta against junior rugby… it’s typically RAINING! 🌧️😂

Nothing says “welcome back to rugby” quite like soggy boots, freezing parents on the sideline and a rugby ball that suddenly weighs about 14kg. 🤣

The boys are ready to get stuck back in after the summer break, and with 16 players named on the team sheet, we’re looking forward to seeing plenty of energy, teamwork, big tackles and hopefully a few tries along the way!

Meanwhile, the parents will be undertaking their own elite-level endurance event:

💙💛 WELCOME TO THE WORLD, BABY JAMIE! 💛💙

A huge congratulations to our parent helper coach Adam and his wife Nicky, who have just welcomed their beautiful third baby boy! 👶💙

Jamie has officially joined the Crosfields family, arriving to join proud big brother Tommy and big sister Frankie. 🥰

We’re sure Adam and Nicky are absolutely over the moon… although we’re not sure Adam has fully thought this through. 😂

Three children AND a U10s rugby team to manage?! 🤣🏉

Adam, we thought you were volunteering to help coach rugby — turns out you were just getting some practice in for managing a bigger squad at home! 😂

🏉💙💛 THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER… BACK TO REALITY! 💛💙🏉

Well boys… the all-inclusive buffet has been raided, the ice creams have been demolished, the late mornings have come to an end and the holiday legs are about to get a VERY rude awakening! 😂☀️

The Crosfields U10s are BACK TO TRAINING TOMORROW! 🏉

We’ve actually trained through the summer, kept the rugby ticking over and only had one full week off last week… but with players disappearing off on holidays here, there and everywhere, there’s bound to be a few boys turning up tomorrow wondering why their legs suddenly feel like they’ve been filled with concrete!

And of course, the timing is absolutely perfect…

We spend the summer chasing the sunshine ☀️
We get back from our holidays…
AND NOW IT’LL PROBABLY RAIN. 🌧️

Goodbye poolside.
Hello muddy pitch.
Goodbye all-inclusive buffet.
Hello “who forgot their water bottle?”
Goodbye sunbeds.
Hello grass stains.

Tomorrow it’s time to dust off the boots, wake the legs up and remember which way we’re supposed to run — although some of them were still working that one out before the holidays! 🤦‍♂️

Then Sunday sees our FIRST MATCH BACK as we head away to Liverpool Lions 🦁🏉

The boys have worked hard throughout the summer, and now it’s time to put it into action… assuming everyone remembers their boots, their positions and, most importantly, which team they’re actually playing for! 😂

Let’s get back to doing what these boys do best working hard, playing together, having a laugh and enjoying their rugby. 💙💛

There’ll be tackles, tries, mud, shouting, questionable decisions and absolutely no shortage of noise from the sidelines! 😂👏

FULL TIME: Warrington Wolves 34-12 Hull KR! 🐺🏉

Well… we’re not saying Tuesday night’s visit to Crosfields U10s was the reason for the win… but we’re not not saying it either! 😏

After getting a masterclass from the future stars of Crosfields, the Wolves went on to put in a fantastic performance to beat Hull KR 34-12.

There were shades of Tuesday night’s training all over the game too…

🏃 One try came from running straight through the defensive line – we’ve definitely seen that at Crosfields!

⚡ Another was a brilliant breakaway try – again, nothing our U10s haven’t been practising!

💥 And those tackles and that defensive effort… outstanding! The line speed, commitment and determination to keep Hull KR out looked very familiar. We’d like to think a few defensive tips from the Crosfields U10s rubbed off during Tuesday’s session! 😉

The only thing missing was a Crosfields-style discipline masterclass. No sin bins for our lads on a Tuesday night! Maybe Mikey Lewis should pop down to training next time and see how it’s done… 😂

In all seriousness, we’re delighted the boys got the opportunity to train alongside such fantastic role models, and we’re even happier to see the Wolves get the result this weekend.

Unfortunately, our own U10s won’t be able to make it a Wolves/Crosfields double this weekend, as tomorrow’s fixture has been postponed due to the hard ground caused by the heatwave. Probably for the best… we’d rather save those crunching Crosfields tackles for another day! ☀️🏉

Congratulations to everyone at Warrington Wolves on a brilliant 34-12 victory… we’ll be expecting a thank you in the post! 💙💛🐺
