🏏 IT’S LORDS DAY!! 🏏

🏏 ECB U13 NATIONAL FINAL – TODAY AT LORD’S! 🏏

A huge day for Wellesbourne Cricket Club as our U13s take to the field today in the ECB National Final at Lord’s Cricket Ground, where we will face Esher CC.

It has been a fantastic journey for the boys, coming through county, regional and national stages to earn their place on the biggest stage.

Today they face one final challenge, with the match taking place on the Nursery Ground at Lord’s at 2.45pm.

We are incredibly proud of the whole squad, coaches, parents and everyone who has supported the team throughout the competition.

Whatever happens today, reaching a national final at Lord’s is an incredible achievement and a day everyone connected with Wellesbourne CC will remember for a very long time.

Good luck lads — enjoy every minute and give it everything! 💚🏏

We’d just like to say a massive thank you, and a safe flight home for this year’s overseas, Kayden Barrows! ✈️

Kayden starred with both bat and ball for us across the season, leading the run-scorers in the 1st XI with 478 runs, and also pitching in with 10 wickets as well! 🏏

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time with us, and we hope to see you again very soon… 😉

Wellesbourne CC 3rd XI – 2026 Season Review

The 2026 season was a historic one for Wellesbourne Cricket Club, with the formation of the club’s first-ever 3rd XI.
The team was created primarily to give our younger players a clear pathway from junior cricket into adult cricket, and the first season has been a complete success.
Competing in Division Five East of the Cotswold Hills League, Wellesbourne played 16 league matches, winning nine, losing six and drawing one, finishing an excellent fourth place with 228 points.

That top-five finish means the 3rd XI will remain in Division Five next season, which is a fantastic achievement for a team in its first year.

While the results have been excellent, the biggest success has been seeing so many of our young cricketers gain valuable experience of Saturday adult cricket.

Throughout the season, juniors have been given genuine opportunities to bat, bowl and play important roles alongside more experienced senior players. Several have produced match-winning performances and grown in confidence as the season has progressed.

The experienced players involved also deserve enormous credit for helping create the right environment for younger players to learn, develop and enjoy their introduction to senior cricket.

To establish a new team, win nine matches, finish fourth out of ten teams and, most importantly, provide a successful pathway into adult cricket is something everyone involved should be extremely proud of.

A huge thank you to all the players, parents, scorers, umpires, ground staff and supporters who helped make the first season possible.

A fantastic first year for Wellesbourne 3rd XI and a great foundation to build on in 2027.🏏
