I have two posts today this one is as a result of a meeting with a financial adviser. Lots of people are concerned about the lack of communication from universities if you think your child is struggling at Uni. One way to approach this is to have your children complete LPAs prior to going to university and tick the box that allows them to be used when registered even if the donor( your child) has mental capacity. There are many reasons why this iis a good idea but the main ones are;

a. the ages of 18 to 31 are times of highest risk of accidents which could result in loss of capacity ie drinking lots, adrenaline sports etc
b. not coping with university and struggling mentally.

this is not full proof but it tells the university that the child trusts you and if registered gives you legal ability to help your child if needed.

Its a been a good week. Two complicated cases and unusual requests and seeing a lovely client at the fantastic Banf Film Festival Portsmouth. Once you have an LPA if you want to remove one of the Attorneys you can by using a Partial revocation. This is usually used to remove 1 person from an LPA. You need to be aware, to deal with property you still need two attorneys.
