We are so excited to announce that Strong Girl Squad is back for Easter!!!!
Sessions will be running as below
Wednesday, Thursday & Thursday
1, 2 & 9 Aprilβ¨11:30-15:30β¨Friday

12:00-17:00
Activities scheduled will cover various aspects of a healthy lifestyle. These will encompass meal planning and cooking nutritious dishes, engaging in craft activities to explore different creative pursuits, sessions focusing on well-being, and equipping girls with coping mechanisms for navigating a sometimes, stressful world. Plus of course learning to be STRONG!
If your daughter qualifies for free school meals and is aged between 11 and 16, then she can attend for FREE*
*If your daughter does not qualify for free school meals, then donβt worry we have limited paid places available at just Β£25 per strong girl, per session.

A massive thank you to our adaptive athlete Elizabeth, who came in yesterday to talk about her journey as an adaptive athlete, and her preparations for heading out to Vegas in three weeks for her second Adaptive CrossFit Games π©πΌβπ¦½ββ‘οΈπͺπ»
Plus the girls also got some insight on what itβs like to train as adaptive athlete with completing various movements seated!
Elizabeth is one hell of a Strong Girl and an awesome role model - thank you π©·ππ©΅π§‘π

A huge thanks to Henry and Bex from South East Coast Ambulance Service, who came in today and talked to the girls about what they do in the Ambulance Service, as both a paramedic and student paramedic.

After a wellness and self care session, where the girls made their own canvas wellness βmood boardsβ to display in their rooms at home, they were treated to an hours Pilates session with .with.holly.86
Thank you Holly for giving up your time today, to give the girls more insight into Pilates and how these flows can help with wellness and mindfulness.
Tomorrow sees a visit from the South East Coast Ambulance Crew.

What a fantastic first week we had at this summers Strong Girl Squad holiday club at CrossFit Iron Duke.

You may be wondering what happens at Strong Girl Squad, which is designed for girls aged 11-16. Our sessions focus on well-being, and equipping girls with coping mechanisms for navigating a sometimes, stressful world. Plus of course learning to be STRONG!
A typical day will run:
11:30 β 12:00 Check in and Breakfastβ¨On arrival the girls are brought into the gym where breakfast is offered and to have a quick reminder of the house rules β Work Hard, Be Nice, Have Fun!

12:00-12:30 Food prep time
This is an opportunity for the girls to get involved in preparing their lunch for the following day, whilst catching up with the other girls.

12:30-13:30 Activities
We offer a wide range of enrichment activities to allow the girls to express themselves, this week includes nutrition, string women through history, music and freeplay with arts & crafts.

13:30-14:30 Gym Time
The one hour training session is varied. It will also be explained why itβs cool (and the importance) to be strong both physically and mentally.
14:30-15:10 Lunchβ¨Lunch is provided and this is where we role model positive relationships with food, explaining how itβs important to eat to fuel oneβs body.β¨β¨15:10-15:30 The Shop
Throughout the year, we collect donations of gently used sports kit, sports bras, leggings, vests, and trainers. Β We also have toiletries on hand. Every day, each girl is invited to take One Thing She Wants and One Thing She Needs.β¨β¨15:30 β Goodbyes!
