I'm so ready 🌸

Right now, under leaf litter and tucked into little pockets of earth, next year’s pollinators are resting.
Disturb the ground — rake, till, blow leaves away — and you can destroy an entire colony before spring begins.

• Most queens overwinter just below the soil
• Many shelter in leaf piles, brush, or tall grass
• They emerge in late April–May to start a new hive
• Early yard cleanup = silent losses we never see

🍂 Let leaves stay.
🚫 Skip the blower.
🌱 Delay raking and mowing until spring warms.

A quiet yard now means a buzzing garden later.
Protect the queens — everything blooms because of them.

Before you tidy up your garden, save those seed heads 🐦 Coneflowers, Black-Eyed Susans, and similar plants give birds essential winter food—your “messy” garden might save their lives.

9 Edible “Weeds” Worth Keeping in Your Garden
Nature’s free superfoods—packed with flavor, vitamins, and resilience!

• Dandelion — Bitter greens rich in iron and vitamin A; roots make detox tea.
• Purslane — Juicy leaves loaded with omega-3s; great in salads or stir-fries.
• Clover — Mild and nutty; flowers and leaves can be brewed into tea.
• Lamb’s Quarters — Spinach substitute high in calcium and protein.
• Plantain — Tender young leaves soothe inflammation when eaten or used topically.
• Chickweed — Crisp, delicate green that pairs beautifully in sandwiches.
• Mallow — Edible leaves and flowers with a mild, okra-like texture.
• Violet — Sweet, edible blossoms rich in vitamin C; ideal for garnishes.
• Stinging Nettle — Cooked leaves taste like spinach and are high in iron and magnesium.

✨ Tip: Always harvest from clean, pesticide-free areas — your “weeds” might just be your healthiest greens!

When the bees disappear, flowers lose their voice, fields lose their color, and the earth forgets how to breathe. Protect them — for in their tiny wings lies the heartbeat of our planet." 🌍🐝
