Yesterday our vets played Southsea and came away with a very convincing and perfect 6.0 win…

Huge well done to Tom and his team, amazing result

“Today we played Southsea at home. This match had significance as it was 100 years since PGC started at Great Salterns.

First up was Steve and myself and we went 1 down on the first, we came back from that and were never behind after that. The game was finished on the 13th green. A 6 & 5 victory and Captains balls.

Next up was big Jim and Andy, nip and tuck on the front 9 then they turned it up on the second half coming out 4 & 2 victors.

So far so good….

Third up was Pete M and Pete D, never behind and finished winners with a strong 5 & 4

Fourth match saw the dynamic duo of Sam and Clive team up and boy this one was close all down to the 18 th finished 1 up to us

Fifth match Was Gerry and John who played a great game, nip and tuck for a lot of the game but ran out 3 & 1 winners

The last pair were Dave Levy and Ian, another nip and tuck game but finished 2 up.

The result was a 6-0 to Portsmouth, fantastic result all. Memories made for us all.

After the great success of captains day.. We now turn our attention to the World Cup…

⚽ ⛳️Golf, 🍔BBQ & England's🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 World Cup Kick-Off!

Just a reminder that England kick off their World Cup campaign on Wednesday at 9:00pm.
To make it a brilliant evening, we'll be running a 9-hole Texas Scramble roll-up, followed by a BBQ before settling down to watch the match.
It's got all the ingredients for a fantastic night:
Golf, Food, Football and Friendly Banter!

We've reserved tee times from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, so simply turn up, put your name in the book, and join in.

Entry is just £5, which includes the BBQ, plus your green fee if you don't hold a season ticket.
Whether you're playing, eating, watching the football, or all three, it promises to be a great evening at the club.

Sorry it’s late…

Portsmouth Golf Club Captain Mark Hall held his Captain s day this Saturday just gone with all donations raised on the day going to the Rowans Hospice. The day was a huge success with everyone having a great time, the weather was fantastic and the course was in great shape and with some impressive performances.

Mark Hall stated that he was really pleased that everyone had such a great time and he could not have done it without the support and hard work from the committee and the members…

“Thanks to James Green and Glendale whose support for this event was outstanding as always. A special thanks goes to JoJo and Debbie who ran the burger and hot dog stand, and a mention to Louis too for all his hard work and support. Further thanks goes to Steve, Hazel, Gary, Gerry, Barry, both Kieth’s, Blake and the boys for helping with the new gazebo, and you the members… all of whom played their part in making this day a great success”

“A total of £700 was raised for the Rowans Hospice. Thanks to everyone who donated and congratulations to all those that won a prize”

“With the world cup kicking off tonight at 8pm with Mexico 🇲🇽 vs South Africa 🇿🇦 we firstly kick the evening off with roll up, with tonight being Texas Scramble”

2man team = 20%
3man team = 10%
4man team = 5%

“Also don't forget next Wednesday it's England vs Croatia, we have a tee-time block booking from 5pm to 6pm followed by bbq on the balcony and Kick off at 9pm

Great weekend for sone of our juniors just gone playing in their club championship…

“The junior club championships were held on Sunday 7th June with 19 juniors playing in the competition. It was a great afternoon of golf and was enjoyed by everyone. A huge well done for everyone taking part. The Nett winner was Malakai Gamblin Green”

“And the 2026 Junior Club Champion was Connie Lai”
