🌳 Watford loves its parks – and it shows! We’re proud that 17 of our parks and open spaces have achieved Green Flag status, recognising the high standards they are maintained to. 🏆

But, like communities across the UK and around the world, we still face challenges with littering. There isn’t an endless pot of money to tackle the problem, so preventing litter in the first place is key.

Every piece of litter left behind has to be picked up by our dedicated operatives. The time and money spent cleaning up litter could instead be invested in improving our parks.

💭 We’d love to hear your thoughts:
♻️ What would encourage people to recycle more?
🚮 What ideas do you have to reduce littering in our parks and public spaces?
🌱 What practical solutions could make a real difference?

Following significant redevelopment works through the winter months, Cassiobury Park paddling pools welcomed more than 12,300 visitors during May, highlighting their popularity with local families.

To help ensure the pools continue operating smoothly, the paddling pools will temporarily close for a short period (15-18 June 2026) while essential refinement works are completed on the newly installed water tanks following their initial period of operation.

The closure has been scheduled during a quieter period, with attendance to the pools during term time weekdays being minimal compared to weekend and school holiday usage.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank visitors for their patience while these important improvements are completed. We look forward to welcoming families back to the pools as soon as possible.

🚴‍♀️ The award-winning green space is easy to get to, no matter how you travel. Please note that during busy periods, parking spaces may be limited. If possible, we recommend considering other modes of transport, such as public transport or Beryl Bikes.

🗑 Please use the bins provided throughout the park. Avoid leaving rubbish in overflowing bags next to bins - foxes tear these apart, scattering litter everywhere. If your rubbish doesn't fit in a bin, please take it home with you
