NEW THIS SEPTEMBER! 💜

We’re opening up our Tap & Modern class to Reception as well as Year 1 children for the first time!

If your little one is starting Reception this September and loves music, movement and dancing, this could be a lovely next step. ✨

Classes are fun, friendly and encouraging, with a mixture of tap, modern, music, movement and plenty of opportunities to build confidence along the way.

And you definitely don’t need to have danced before. 😊

Have you met Melody Bear and Milligan yet? 🧸💜

These two very special friends join us every week in our Melody Movement classes and are always ready for a new adventure!

Through music, movement, stories and lots of imagination, they help make every class fun, engaging and full of smiles. We dance, explore, pretend, play and learn together, all in a relaxed and encouraging environment where children can simply enjoy being themselves.

One of my favourite things is watching little ones arrive a little unsure and, before long, they’re chatting to Melody Bear, joining in with big smiles and looking forward to their next adventure.

I’m so excited that we’re launching NEW Friday Melody Movement classes this September, giving even more little ones the chance to discover the joy of dance.

If your little one loves music, movement and using their imagination, I’d love to welcome you to Dance ARC. 💜

Whilst our dancers are enjoying a well-earned summer break, Dance ARC certainly isn’t!

Although the studios are quiet for a few weeks, this is one of my busiest times of year. Behind the scenes I’m busy planning exciting lessons, updating our website, preparing resources, organising our new preschool classes and getting everything ready to welcome everyone back in September.

Running a dance school is so much more than the classes you see each week, and I genuinely love this part too. It’s the chance to reflect on everything we’ve achieved this year and think about how we can make next year even better.

Whether your child is returning after the summer or you’re thinking about joining us for the very first time, I can’t wait to share everything we’ve been working on.

Classes return on Tuesday 8th September and I already can’t wait to be back in the studio! 💜

💜 Something new for our Grade 3 Ballet dancers... 🩰✨

This summer, our dancers will be taking home their very own Dance ARC Ballet Passport.

I created this to encourage our dancers to explore what it means to be a dancer beyond just learning steps and choreography.

Inside their passports they will find activities, reflections and ideas around looking after their bodies, recovery, goals, strength, confidence and becoming more knowledgeable dancers.

This isn’t homework and there is no pressure to complete anything in a certain way. 💜

It’s simply a chance for them to learn more about themselves as dancers, build good habits and continue their dance journey over the summer.

I loved seeing their reactions when they received them, and I can’t wait to see how they use them as they prepare for September. ✨

🎭 What a fantastic way to round off the year! 💜

On our final day of term, some of our Dance ARC students had the opportunity to perform in our local community, showcasing all of their hard work and enthusiasm.

I’m so proud of every single performer for dancing with confidence, smiles and so much energy. Thank you to everyone who came along to support them and to the families who shared their photos and videos with us. 💜

A wonderful way to end another fantastic year at Dance ARC. ✨

⭐ What a way to finish another incredible year at Dance ARC! 💜

From our final classes and celebrating our Student Assistant Development Programme students, to performing in our local community... Saturday was the perfect way to end the term.

I couldn’t be prouder of every single student. Watching their confidence grow, seeing friendships flourish and celebrating all they’ve achieved this year is what Dance ARC is all about.

To all of our wonderful families, thank you for your continued support throughout the year. It means so much and helps make Dance ARC the special community it is.

Now it’s time for a well-deserved summer break! ☀️

We’ll still be sharing plenty over the holidays, including our Summer Challenge, behind-the-scenes updates and a few exciting things we’re working on for September... so keep an eye on our page! 👀💜

These are one of my favourite things I’ve created this year… 💜

They’re all ready for my wonderful Grade 3 Ballet dancers.

I can’t wait to hand them out tonight and see their reactions!

Sometimes the best part of teaching isn’t just the dancing - it’s finding little ways to keep our dancers inspired and excited about their journey.

Have the best summer, Grade 3s…..your next adventure is about to begin. ☀️ 🩰

🍫🎶 KitKat Week is one of our favourite end-of-year traditions—but it’s much more than just a sweet treat!

In our older Tap & Modern classes, we use a 4-finger KitKat as a hands-on way to teach musical notation and rhythm. The four fingers represent a bar of 4/4 time, helping our dancers visualise how music is counted. We then break the KitKat down to demonstrate semibreves, minims, crotchets and quavers, giving the children a practical understanding of note values and how rhythms fit within a bar.

A strong understanding of musicality is an essential part of dance. By using visual and tactile learning alongside movement, we help our dancers develop confidence in counting, recognising rhythms and interpreting music—skills that support their dancing across all genres.

Of course, the best part is enjoying the KitKat afterwards! 🍫
