🏊♂️ Watford Swimming Club (Official Site) hosted its third meet of the year this weekend – the Claire Houchin Skills Development Meet – at Woodside Leisure Centre.
Organised to nurture emerging talent, the event welcomed hundreds of young swimmers from across the region, many competing for the first time.
Entry times were capped to focus on development, with ‘speeding tickets’ awarded to those who swam faster than the upper qualifying limit. 💥
A huge thank you to the volunteers, returning swimmer Claire Houchin, and sponsors Ellis David Insurance Brokers for making it all possible.

🏊♀️✨ Thank You, Claire Houchin! ✨🏊♂️
💙 After 17 years of dedicated coaching, Watford Swimming Club says goodbye to their Skills Development Coach, Claire Houchin, as she retires.
"Many of the older swimmers at the club, when aged 8 or 9, would have had Claire as their first coach and would have learned their core skills from Claire’s dedicated and passionate coaching. The current skills development squads are now developing into strong competitive swimmers thanks to Claire’s guidance." - Gareth Harper, Club President.
🌟 To honour Claire’s impact, they’re renaming the May Development Gala to the Claire Houchin Skills Development Gala!
👏 Watford Swimming Club (Official Site) thanks Claire for the incredible memories and her endless dedication.
