🌱 Monday 21st September 2026 🏌️‍♂️

Here we are — another new week, and September is absolutely flying by! 🍂

The forecast is looking very favourable for golf this week, with temperatures set to climb into the mid-20s in places. ☀️ So, make the most of it while you can — the sunrises are getting later, the sunsets earlier, and those autumn evenings are certainly drawing in.

The grass, however, clearly hasn’t received the memo! 🌱😂 We’ve been busy from the off today, with the greens, tees, aprons, collars and fairways all receiving a good tidy-up. Add in freshly raked bunkers, plenty of work on the driving range, and a few approaches and banks to finish the day, and it’s been a busy one.

🔧 Tomorrow: drainage work begins on the 11th apron, with the hole closed during the morning while we get underway.

Another productive start to the week as we continue preparing the course for the changing seasons. 💪⛳️

💧 Drainage Project #2 – 8th Green Apron ⛳

Another area ticked off! ✅

This week we’ve lifted the turf, installed additional 80mm perforated drainage pipe, backfilled with clean gravel and carefully relaid the turf. 💧🔧🌱

We’re targeting areas of the course that struggled through last winter, with the aim of improving drainage, keeping the course drier and ultimately creating more playable golf and more golfing days throughout the winter months. ⛳️🌧️

Project #2 complete! ✔️

🌿🏌️‍♂️ FRIDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER | FRESH HOLE FRIDAY 🏌️‍♂️🌿

It’s a Fresh Hole Friday here at Wedmore! ⛳️😎

A bit overcast overhead today, but it’s mild and the greenkeepers are out putting the finishing touches to the course ahead of the weekend. After completing a couple of drainage projects and getting plenty of mowing done this week, it’s all about getting everything looking and playing its best. 💪🌱

This morning:
🟢 Greens freshly rolled
✂️ Tees, aprons & collars freshly mown
📍 Pins changed for a fresh challenge for the weekend and week ahead

After break, the bunkers have had a fresh rake 🏖️, before attention turns to the driving range to make sure there are plenty of balls ready for some weekend practice! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

Another busy week in the books… now it’s time to let the course do the talking! 😎⛳️

🐑 THURSDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER 🐑

🚜 New mower demonstration at Wedmore?! 👀

We had a rather unusual visitor out on the back nine this morning… a four-legged, woolly mower! 🐑😂 We thought we’d give a new automated mowing technology a try, but unfortunately this particular model was very slow, required no charging and was far too friendly! 🤣

The demonstration didn’t last overly long, and after a quick wander around the course, our new mower has now been safely returned to its owner. 🐑👍 No harm done — just a little extra entertainment for the greenkeeping team!

🌱 Away from our temporary sheep-powered machinery, we’ve been busy getting the course under control in these lush green growing conditions. Fresh cuts for the greens, fairways, semi-rough and rough, bringing those heights back down and keeping the course looking its best. ⛳️💚

🌦️ A little light drizzle first thing, with overcast skies and a breeze, but things are looking set to turn drier as the day goes on.

🌱 Tuesday 15th September ⛳️

A little light drizzle first thing this morning 🌦️, but that’s now blown through and we’re looking set for a dry day ahead. A little breezy, with a mixture of blue skies, broken cloud and some bright sunshine ☀️💨

The grass is growing at quite a rate now, so we’re keeping on top of the mowing and tackling the growth across the course 🌱✂️

Meanwhile, we’re getting stuck into some of our autumn drainage projects, starting today at the 13th green 🚜💧. Plenty more to follow as we work through the areas that struggled during the wetter months.

Autumn jobs are well and truly underway! 🍂⛳️

A great start to the week with the full team in today and plenty getting done as we prepare the course for the week ahead. 💪🌿

This morning has seen a fresh mow of the fairways, tees, aprons, collars and greens, while the bunkers have been freshly raked and the driving range picked and cut. 🏌️‍♂️

The new 10th green has also had another cut — something we’re now doing several times a week as it continues to establish nicely. 👌⛳️

🌧️ 4mm of rain recorded overnight, followed by a light drizzle first thing. It’s been an overcast but very mild morning, and the grass is certainly making the most of it — growing at a rapid rate! 🌱

And with the recent weather, it’s great to see those defined Wedmore stripes back in play! 💚

A little overseeding has also taken place around some collars and other areas that have struggled through the summer, helping give them the best possible start as we head into autumn. 🌾

All systems go at Wedmore! 🚜⛳️
