The end of an era!
After 15 incredible years we have had to make the difficult decision to not continue as a competitive team in our league.
This was not an easy choice — the league has been such a huge part of our journey, filled with countless memories, some triumphs and more recently, challenges, along the way.
We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of this chapter: players, past and present, coaches, managers, volunteers, and our supporters.
To all those who have snapped our moments through their lenses , we thank you as we cherish the moments captured.
The friendships built and the community spirit we’ve shared, will always remain with us. While this may be the end of our time in the league, it is certainly not the end of our love for the game or the bonds we’ve made along the way. Besides, women's football has come a long way from where we started 15 years ago and that is progress in itself. We leave with women and girls football in a far better place.
We would like to wish all the teams the best of luck for the upcoming season.
With a heavy heart but with gratitude,
Nyima Touray🧡🖤

2-2 draw for the ladies at the weekend against third place Porlock who beginning of the season they lost 11-0 to.
Wellington ladies have gotten stronger as a team throughout the season from being basically a brand new team with a new manager and this result shows exactly that. The ladies started strong against Porlock but unfortunately went 1-0 down after the first 15 minutes. Shortly after striker Jade Pope received a short ball from Izzie Carpenter and managed to lob Porlocks keeper making it 1-1.
Defender Charlotte Holder ended up off with a knee injury just before half time leaving us with no subs for the second half but the ladies were determined to go back out and create more chances. With that a ball down the left hand side from captain Grace Keen to manager Ashleigh Grabham-White was the perfect opportunity for Ash to cut back in and score making it 2-1 to Wellington. Porlock saw another opportunity to score and did so making the game even again. The last twenty minutes of the game was very strong from both teams with lots of defending and counter attacking. Wellington went a player down due to another injury and they were determined to not let Porlock score another in which they succeeded and the game ended 2-2.
Man of the match was Jade Pope for her goal, playing 2 different positions and being strong in the middle. We hope our two injured players have a speedy recovery and rest up🧡🖤
Wellington Ladies saw through a nice 4-1 win on Sunday 2nd Feb at home against Crewkerne. In the first half Wellington managed to get to a 3-0 lead which had lovely strikes from Jade Pope and Chloe Carpenter with both assists coming from Tash Hole. Tash then managed to get a goal herself 5 minutes towards the end of the first half with an assist from Ash Grabham-White.
The second half started strong, lots of shots were being made from both teams when crewkerne managed to slide one past Keeper Tasha Ireland who had made some good pervious saves. The ladies carried on playing their game well ending up with another goal from Ash Grabham-White with another assist coming from Tash Hole.
Player of the match was Chloe Carpenter, normally a defender who played midfield and bagged herself a goal.

Today the ladies played top of the league Staple grove and their overall performance was outstanding. The ladies fought well, they stood their ground and they played their game as a team. It’s safe to say these ladies have come a long way since the beginning of the season.
In the first half Staplegrove were going down hill, Wellingtons defending was brilliant. There were lots of clearances from defenders Nyima Touray, Katie Sweetland Charlotte Holder, Chloe Carpenter and captain Tash Hole. Staplegrove went 1-0 up after 17 minutes from a brilliant strike from one of their defenders. Wellington ladies didn’t let their heads drop and they carried on as normal creating a few chances for Striker Jade Pope but unfortunately nothing coming from them.
The second half started strong, a lot of good runs were made from Kate Sinfield, manager Ash Grabham-White & Leah Bradbeer but again we just couldn’t find that net. Staplegrove fortunately got granted a penalty from an accidental hand ball in which new keeper Natasha Ireland saved, however in the rebound Staplegrove got the goal making it 2-0.
The ladies played a great game today and every single one of them should be proud of the performance they put on.
Women of the match went to Keeper Natasha Ireland after only her second game in goal and the amount of brilliant saves she made through out the game.🧡🖤
