SASP Inclusive Sport

During the May half term, we took to the water for the first time this year with a couple of fun-filled kayaking sessions with Channel Adventure! 🚣

Not only were we treated to some warm weather and glorious sunshine, but our 8-12 years group enjoyed a paddle along the canal towards Taunton, while our 13-18 years group made their way to Bridgwater Docks, taking part in lots of games and challenges along the way. 🌊

What a brilliant time had by all! 🙌

⚽️Step into Sport inclusive leadership day 🙌

At the end of March, we had the pleasure of hosting our 2025/2026 Inclusive Step into Sport Leadership event at Westfield Academy!

The day introduced 36 young people to the characteristics of an effective leader, allowed them to explore how activities can be adapted using both the SMILES and STEP principles, and made pledges outlining how they intend to use their inclusive leadership skills moving forward.

A massive well done to all of the young people who attended, we can't wait to see you continue on your leadership journey! 👏

🕺Spring into Dance🕺

During the Easter break, we teamed up with The MAD Community CIC in Taunton to offer our first ever Spring into Dance session! We had a great time taking part in a variety of dance games, including musical hoops and corners. We also showed off our dance moves during our inclusive disco, and, of course, it wouldn't be a proper disco without the Cha Cha Slide!

🏹 Inclusive Family Archery and Pizza Making Session! 🍕

Despite the windy and drizzly weather during the Easter Holiday, we had a brilliant time at Greensand Wood with Somerset Adventures. Not only did our young people and their families get to learn some archery basics, but they also enjoyed dancing around the fire to stay warm and, of course, making and eating their own pizza!
