Telford stags would love to see any new over 50's who wish to play walk in football. We meet every Tuesday (except 7th April) - arrive before 9.40am and register if you are new. Details of the venue on this site. All abilities welcome.

I'm hoping to back playing footy in the next couple of weeks after a thigh strain

Hi all, I'm looking at starting up Walking Football again tomorrow, after a bit of a lay off, hoping to see some old faces & new ones

Our sessions are now moving to a Tuesday for reasons that are out of our control. Same time 10.00am every week. Please arrive by 9.40am.

Good news for us as we continue our footballing odyssey.

AFC Telford United is pleased to announce that the resurfacing of our 5-a-side pitches has finally begun today with works expected to be completed in just over a week. When finished, the new pitches will provide a much-needed upgrade and serve the community for many years.

The works have come at a time when we have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of enquiries/bookings so we hope everyone enjoys the new facilities to their fullest.

We have engaged SIS Pitches, a global leader in sports surface solutions, to carry out the resurfacing. SIS Pitches has installed and maintained pitches for some of the most prestigious clubs and sporting venues around the globe, most notably at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.

The new playing surface, 'SIS Grass Synthetic Xtra 50,' has been manufactured at their UK facility and will provide an elite playing experience for all future users.

Additionally, the pitch floodlights have been upgraded to LED making them brighter and more energy efficient and the goals will be refurbed and have new nets too.

All current bookings will continue whilst the works are ongoing.

Well everyone the day has arrived. We are able to restart walking football at the Bucks Head this coming Monday 19th April.
Start time is 10am but please arrive half hour early to get registration done.

Hi Everyone,
Me again. I’m afraid to say everything I wrote earlier regarding a return is wrong.
Apparently the pitches are not open during the day. There is no plan to open them in the near future and when they do there may be number restrictions.
Perhaps Covid only comes out in daylight ???
Roy has suggested we still meet up but I am thinking probably not. The Committee stuff can wait till its safe for us to meet.
Sorry about the miss information.
Will update you when I know more.

Good Morning Everybody
I hope you are all well and ready to get back to playing football.
It’s been a very long year and who knew we would be waiting twelve months to play again.
I have spoken to Roy and it has been decided to meet up at the carpark on Monday 29th March at 10am to have a chat and probably play a couple of games.
We intend to start playing again on Monday 12th April. We are not sure if there are any restrictions or any protocol we need to follow as yet but will find out and let everyone know..
As Monday 5th is a bank holiday there will be no play that day.
We need to pick a new committee as soon as possible so the club can move forward in the right direction. The existing Committee will be standing down having done it since we began seven odd years ago.
Required are a new Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and event organiser. Anyone willing to take up this opportunity to help run the club will be much appreciated.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again.

Hi Everyone

A lot has happened since Monday. I have spoken to Roy and we have regrettably decided that all walking football by Telford Stags has been suspended from today until further notice.
There are concerns from some players/members about social distancing and the news out today from the government.
We have looked at all the reasons to continue and to suspend and it was unanimously decided to suspend for the safety of the members.
It’s not what some of you want to hear but we as a committee have to take these threats seriously.
Anyone wishing to discuss this then please feel free to ring me.
