MAY’s MEMBER OF THE MONTH - ✨ ✨

Amy is a huge personality and presence here at Spartan Chamber, and is more than deserving of our Member of the Month award for May!

Don’t let her size fool you. Amy is an absolute powerhouse. She consistently shows up, puts in the work, and continues to impress us with her dedication and determination. Her commitment to classes, especially Gymnastics Skillz, has been outstanding, and her movement standards have improved massively over the past few months.

From handstand push-ups to rope climbs, Amy tackles every challenge with confidence and enthusiasm. Her progress has been incredible to watch, and she’s become a real inspiration to those around her.

Amy also incredibly always volunteers her time to help judge comps here at Spartan, including the recent Hyrox triples. Her care & kindness doesn’t go unnoticed either 🤍

We asked Amy a few questions for you all:

✨How long have you been a member at Spartan Chamber?
Just over 3 years

✨What is your favourite movement or exercise?
Burpee or db sn**ch or circuits

✨What do you enjoy most about it?
Circuits is good as you work with people you may not always do and db sn**ch and burpees just good quick movements

✨What is your least favourite movement or exercise?
Barbell Sn**ch

✨Be honest – which movement would you happily never do again, and why?
Wall ball - just so far to throw the ball 😂

✨What has been your favourite Spartan Chamber memory so far?
Total comp in November super pushed myself and super enjoyed the day as lifting isn’t my strength best comp I’ve done to date!

✨What is your favourite time of day to train?
Morning, I like to get it over and done with early doors

✨What keeps you motivated to train?
Always makes me feel better after a good workout

✨What do you enjoy most about being part of the Spartan Chamber community?
Knowing that someone will always say hello to you when you walk through the door and feel welcomed

✨A piece of advice, motivation, or a welcoming note for the community.
Just showing up is better than not trying at all!

MEET YOUR COACHES, and what better day to show off than on her BIRTHDAY 🎂 🎈

We asked Meg a little about herself for you all, so here we go…

About MEG
I’ve been a coach at Spartan Chamber for a year and a half now. I used to work on the reception desk when we first opened and it took a good few months for me to actually join a class as I was so nervous! Ryan made me join one of his classes one evening, I ended up loving it and I’ve never looked back since!

Whats your coaching style?

I mainly coach the smaller classes, which I love as I really get to know the members. I used to coach the beginner classes which I really enjoyed as I know how it feels to be terrified of starting something new! So my approach to coaching is very chilled and friendly but will put the pressure on if I know you have more in you!

What do you enjoy most?
Seeing someone I’ve PT’d book onto their first class, knowing they’ve gained that confidence. And also watching friendships form in the gym - it makes all the difference when you want to stay consistent with your training.

Favourite Movement:
Very unpopular opinion but I love a ski-erg and a burpee! Fave gymnastics movement definitely TTB.

Least Favourite Movement:
CLEANS! Sometimes they’re great, sometimes they’re awful. Never consistent 😅

Favourite Spartan Memory So Far:
Basically every competition we have had is a great memory, the atmosphere at Spartan on a comp day cannot be beaten. I also really enjoy Turf Games, we’ve entered teams for the last few years now and it’s always so much fun to go up and compete and support each other.

Favourite Time of Day to Train:
Mid morning, after the rush of PT’s and classes! But I do enjoy an EMOM Tuesday evening class and Team Games on a Saturday morning too for the social!

Fun Fact Members May Not Know:
Alongside coaching at Spartan, I am also an Air Hostess during the summer!
