Jaiden Solo Racing

Clay round 2 was sadly another weekend full of bad luck and torrential rain 🙈

Jaiden spent all but one session of the Saturday practice day running his engine in so we didn’t get the opportunity to play with our set-up but rolled with what we thought was best

Heat 1 - P7➡️P12
Jaiden had a really good start but unfortunately was swiped off track by another kart. He didn’t have enough time to catch back up as the engine suffered throttle issues after the crash

Heat 2 - P14➡️DNS
Jaiden’s engine failed to start back up again on the grid after the heat 1 crash

Heat 3 - P1➡️P2
After a rushed engine switch Jaiden got back out for heat 3 but we didn’t have time to adjust the rest of the kart set-up. Jaiden went out with less rear grip that he would have liked but we were pleased to finish the race and gain some points

Final - P15➡️P6
With a quickly drying track, but grey clouds looming, we had to make a hard call on tyres so we opted for wets with a low psi. Unfortunately after putting the kart down on the grid the race was delayed by 29 minutes and in that time the heavens opened. We had a choice of putting our tyre pressures up and taking the hit to go to the back of the grid, or to staying as we were on a crazy low psi for the conditions. We held strong and stayed as we were and it paid off. With so many opting to go to the back of the grid we started the race in P6. The race was full blown monsoon conditions with little visibility, no grip from the under inflated tyres, and no ability to brake on the lake of a track. Jaiden managed to keep his cool and hold on though. Whilst in P5 the race was red flagged due the conditions ending his race P6 which was his last place he held over the line

Round 1 - Whilton Mill

We had a fun weekend in the sun at Whilton with a bit of a mixed bag of racing (and 3 rear number boards down 🙈😂)

Jaiden started heat 1 P10, but after a failed push start he had to fight his way back to his grid position and finished the race P11

Heat 2 was a P19 start with a brilliant 12 place gain finishing P7

Jaiden started heat 3 on pole but after his chain snapping on lap one he went from P1 to on the grass with a DNF 🙈

Starting the final P14 was always going be hard going but we were happy with the P6 finish all considering

This weekend sees the opening round of the Access Karting UK championship from Whilton Mill. Grass roots with entertainment off the charts!

First race of 2026, and first race running the #1 plate, and what a crazy cold and wet one it was!

The Macey cup was just not our weekend unfortunately but at least all the disasters took place in the one go and are hopefully out of the way before the new season starts 🙈

Heat 1 - P2 finish - it started off hopeful…

Heat 2 - DNF after Jaiden’s rear bumper breaking in half part way through the race 🙈

Heat 3 - driver error on the last corner of the last lap, and binned it off the track getting another DNF

Final - started at the back of the grid and finished P8. He came off track with the exhaust cradle broken and the exhaust sitting on top of his brake disc 😂

We did it! Team Solo are officially TKM 100-UK Junior Access Karting UK Champions 2025 😁💪🏻🏆

It has been a crazy first year as a junior, and a steep learning curve for mechanic mum, but we got there!

It’s race weekend and the final round of the 2025 season!

It has been an up and down first year as a TKM Junior but somehow Team Solo are currently leading the championship in P1 🙌🏻😬

It's raceweek once again and we head off to Ellough Park for round 6 of the increasingly popular Access Karting UK series!

Round 5 winners and P1 in the championship (just 😬) with one round left to go🎉🏆🙌🏻

After what felt like 1000 tyre changes in mixed conditions during Saturday’s practice day we couldn’t really find a comfortable set-up going into heat 1

Heat 1 - P6➡️P6
Jaiden took a punt going out on inters on a quickly drying track which unfortunately didn’t pay off. With too much grip he couldn’t compete on the straights but finishing where he started wasn’t a bad result considering. Lesson one of the weekend for Jaiden - make tyre choices wisely 😂

Heat 2 - P14➡️DNF
Our first mechanical of the session annoyingly but we were well overdue a DNF. Just not great timing with the championship points being so tight 😬. Jaiden got hit off track on turn one 🙈 and did get back out but way behind the pack (thank you Matthew Scott for the push start 🙏🏻😊). Jaiden lost his head a bit driving in anger, took a corner too wide, and snapped his throttle cable 🤦🏻‍♀️. Lesson two of the weekend for Jaiden - keep your cool under pressure 😂

Heat 3 - P7➡️P3
A better start and a pretty risky overtake just before the line (two wheels on the grass 😬) that paid off meant a P3 finish and some much needed championship points

Final - P10➡️P1
An unexpected result (sadly helped by a few other incidents up front on the grid 😢) but a P1 finish leaves Jaiden holding onto first place in the championship (for now!) with just 2 points in it

Round 6 at Ellough Park next month is going to be some exciting racing 😁

It’s race week 🙌🏻 and the pressure is on going into round 5 of 6 holding top spot in the 100-UK Junior TKM championship 😬
