Our Epic Day at Epic Universe 🐉⚡
This was, quite literally, an Epic day.
It started with Beth waking up with absolutely zero voice, sounding like she’d smoked 40 a day for the last 20 years and had just finished a three-day karaoke marathon. 😂
Did that stop her? Absolutely not.
Like the trooper she is, she soldiered on and we headed straight into Isle of Berk, where we rode Hiccup’s Wing Gliders before meeting the main man himself… Toothless.
Now, Toothless is a terrifyingly impressive dragon.
Beth described him as “a giant cat.”
Fair enough.
From there, we headed over to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, where the Battle of the Ministry had been down for most of the day.
Then suddenly… it reopened.
And we watched people sprint towards it like they’d just announced the Harry Potter 100m Olympic final.
Naturally, we couldn’t let them have all the glory.
So we joined in.
Our running prowess was tested.
Our dignity was lost.
And after all that, we ended up standing in what can only be described as the worst 90-minute queue of our lives.
Those black tiles.
If you know, you know. 😂
Thankfully, our day was about to get considerably better.
We spotted a post from Dean and Kariss from Tyne To Travel ✈️ , who had somehow managed to acquire Express Passes after being stranded on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders for half an hour.
We met up with them and spent the afternoon riding rides, laughing and generally making the most of Epic Universe together.
It was honestly brilliant getting to spend some proper time with you both — thank you again! 😃
We finished the day watching Universal’s Celestial Goodnight, before squeezing ourselves onto a resort bus back to Surfside.
And because apparently we hadn’t done enough for one day, we ended the night with a bit of moon bathing by the pool. 🌙
Exhausted? Yes.
Voiceless? Definitely.
Would we do it all again?
Absolutely.
What an EPIC day. ❤️
