LGM CIC are pleased to announce that we have agreed a new partnership with Swale Community Leisure Trust who will be managing our facilities on an initial six month interim basis while our Board carries out a more detailed review of our operations.
It is with sadness that Len Mayatt, our Community Operations Manager is leaving his post on the 18th September. Len has undertaken some great work over the past 15 months to bring stability to the CIC and has helped us move forward on a number of fronts. Len stepping back has provided the opportunity for the Board to review the overall operation of the CIC, and its management arrangements. We are therefore pleased to confirm the Board have agreed to work with Swale Community Leisure on a short term basis to support CIC operations while that review is undertaken.
We are very fortunate that Len has agreed to work with us for three days a month for up to six months, to manage Swale Community Leisure and Preim. Len will also provide some continuity and resilience during this period of transition.
Over the coming months, the Board will give careful consideration to long term options for the CIC which will reflect our business plan priorities and the challenging economic environment in which we are operating. The Board remains ever mindful of maintaining an affordable service charge to our residents and have ensured this interim arrangement will not exceed our existing operating budget. They are also keen to continue investigating income generating opportunities from our community assets that reflect the special character of the Chase wherever possible.
Swale Community Leisure has begun operating our facility booking system and from the 14th September, will be taking handover from Len for the wider operations of the community centre, sports pavilion and day to day activities.
Swale Community Leisure has a wealth of experience in operating community facilities in the locality including Hermitage Park and Meopham Leisure Centre. They have a strong focus on community facilities and operations and are already making plans for Halloween and Christmas!
Swale Community Leisure will be providing a presence on site five days a week, which is an enhancement on the current position and will be keen to hear your views on what activities you would like to see on site. They can be contacted at [email protected]
We are also pleased to announce that two of our Directors will soon be holding regular drop in sessions at the Community Centre on a regular basis, where you can come and ask them questions about the Chase and raise any questions you may have. More information to follow once dates and times have been confirmed.
Preim will continue to undertake the same functions as they do now and can be contacted at [email protected]
