Winscombe A.F.C

This Sunday looks to be a belter as wall to wall sunshine is forecast so what better than to come down to Winscombe Rec and support the vets and ladies who both play on the second pitch. The vets start their league campaign against the newly formed SWM vets with the ambition of making the end of season play offs. The ladies follow as they play their first ever league game against a youthful Portishead team. It promises to be a cracking day with both the THUT and Bar open

We think it’s the first time ever that the club has 5 senior league fixtures in a weekend.
On Saturday the firsts have the short trip to face Worle. Winscombe & Churchill kick off their season with the Firsts at home to Locking Park and the Reserves (Colts) away to Worle Rangers Reserves.
Sunday will see a double header on the same pitch with the vets facing SWM Vets and then the ladies playing Portishead Development. Should be a cracking day of football!

Introducing our Club Captain – Sam

We’re delighted to announce that Sam will continue her involvement in leading the team this season as our Club Captain.

Sam has already shown the qualities we want at the heart of this team, that’s to say reliability, positivity, support for her teammates and a genuine desire to help the squad move forward.

As Club Captain, Sam will play an important role in setting our standards, supporting the squad and helping build the team culture we’re looking for.

Introducing our Vice Club Captain – Eva

We’re delighted to announce Eva as our Vice Club Captain for the season.

With captaincy experience behind her, Eva brings leadership, knowledge and respect to the squad.

Her role will extend beyond matchdays, working alongside Sam to help shape our team culture, support her teammates and provide another important link between the players and coaching team.

Eva will also deputise as Matchday Captain when required.

We’re really looking forward to seeing her experience and leadership help us build something special this season. 💙⚽

Introducing our Matchday Captain – Poppy

We’re delighted to announce Poppy as our Matchday Captain for the season.

Poppy is a fantastic player who brings energy, commitment and a real desire to help the team succeed. This season she’ll have the responsibility of leading us on matchdays, representing the team and helping keep us organised, positive and together when it matters most.

We’re confident Poppy will embrace that responsibility and lead by example.
