Mendip RC Raceway

We've been a bit quiet recently publicly, but lots going on behind the scenes.

This week we have held a successful meeting with the landowner of a site we intend to proceed forward with.

Please note this is very early days. A successful meeting is no guarantee of anything, but we are talking with the right people and taking the necessary steps to move forward quickly, but this will take time.

Plans are very exciting as we seek to build a national standard 10th off road track in the South West.

It's been a while.....

Nothing major to report on progress as yet, mainly due to committee illness and busy lives, but hopefully something to say very shortly, so please continue to watch this space.

In the meantime, registration is open for the Welsh Grand Prix in Cardiff hosted by our good friends at COBRA on 5th & 6th December. Head to the BRCA website for registration details

Reminder.

We have another work party scheduled tomorrow to help clear the site. Lots still to do so anyone who can spare some time would be welcome!

ANNOUNCEMENT

We have committed to the Site Owner that we will clear the site by the end of this month per his stateed requirements. We are therefore hosting two work parties to meet this deadline

1. Sunday 19th April - Martin Bristow and Andy Nelson (if he's feeling better) are in charge

2. Saturday 25th April

The is an 8 yard skip arriving on Friday 17th. Advice on what materials can be placed in the skip will be posted in the comments for clarity.

If you are able to assist on either or both dates, please drop a comment below.

There is no further news on a new venue. When we as a committee have news, we'll absolutely share it

Please be aware the Venue is now shut to any type of use.

Anyone found using the Venue will not be welcome to the new one.

Also we have no insurance for the site now it is shut.

Please keep a eye out for updates on New Venue when we have them.

Important info for this weekend at Mendip!
As the photo shows, please adhere to the areas marked out for pitting, parking & camping. Please park sensibly when using the old on road track area, we can get a good number of cars parked on there if parked properly.
The undercover pits will be open and you are welcome to use those for pitting. If you prefer please bring your gazebo or tent.
Please do not block the main road up to the off road track & rostrum area as marked out.
The food van is ready & the menu is posted here to wet your appetite 😋

The track will be shut for any use from Weds to allow work for Modelsport Meeting

ANNOUNCEMENT

There are a number of people talking of attending the track on Sunday. Please note the following.

There will be no timing system in operation as Race Directors will be at the Regional at TRAC

If you have raced at Mendip RC Raceway in 2026, you are more than welcome to use the track at no charge. If you have NOT raced with us this year, there will be a charge per head payable in advance via PayPal. Please do not turn up without paying. This will be checked on the day. If you need to check whether you've raced with us, details are on RC Results and freely available to check before you travel

Round 9 of the Winter Championship done.

Thanks to all who cleared the track this morning after the overnight rain, your help was much appreciated by all.

Suddenly, we're almost down to our last month. Two more club championship rounds and the Modelsport Vintage Masters in March, and that's it.

If you want to prepare for the Vintage Masters, our next meeting is Sunday 8th March. Event details will be posted shortly.
