With the return of National League Rugby to The Nest yesterday we welcomed Old Redcliffians RFC to Hutton Moor Road.🐝

Another nail biting encounter which saw us fall at the final hurdle in the last play of the game, losing 24-27.

Today the Ladies welcomed NC1 (East) counterparts Melksham RFC to The Nest for a preseason friendly - A great game that saw a number of debutants for the club and with a few absentees, an array of ‘positional’ changes.
Not that you’d of thought with an impressive 74-22 victory to get things underway!

Player of the match - Chloe Thompson who put a hell of a shift in at Flanker - Yes that’s right! Flanker! 🤩

Not the result we wanted yesterday - But great to be back nonetheless. 🐝

Followed post match by some alfresco live music in the sunshine ☀️🎵

Another signing for the Ladies

Introducing Lou, a versatile back with plenty of rugby experience behind her.

Lou started playing rugby with Staines in London, featuring at scrum half and on the wing. She went on to play rugby whilst serving in the Army, before more recently playing for Amesbury and Burnham-on-Sea, where she has been playing at fullback.

A keen fitness enthusiast, Lou has competed in bodybuilding, triathlons, boxing and martial arts, and holds a degree in Sports Injury and Treatment.

She now works at Nuffield Health as a Rehab Specialist, bringing plenty of knowledge and experience both on and off the pitch.

With her versatility, experience and fitness background, Lou will be a great addition to the squad this season. 🖤💛

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Rory Larson to our squad for the upcoming season. Rory joins us from Gordano RFC, where he developed his skills throughout his junior career.

His rugby journey has already seen him gain impressive experience, including time at SGS College, where he competed in a prestigious international tournament in Japan. As a former member of the Bristol Bears U18 Academy and a representative for Somerset, Rory brings a high level of quality and pedigree to our side.

Rory has been a standout during our pre-season preparations, demonstrating immense potential and earning a well-deserved Man of the Match award in our recent away fixture against Havant.

We are incredibly excited to see how Rory continues to develop in a National Two environment. Please join us in giving him a massive welcome to the club!

New signing announcement for the ladies.

Introducing Katie Britt, our utility back who is no stranger to the NC1 level.

Katie joins us from our local teammates at Winscombe, who made the step up to the NC1 league last season.

Katie has represented Somerset before going on to play at Hartpury University for three years.

When she’s not on the pitch, you’ll probably find Katie in the gym.

She also joins Hornets with an impressive record, finishing as Winscombe’s top try scorer for the past two seasons in a row. Her versatility and eye for the try line make Katie a fantastic addition to the squad this season.
