Our First Ladies Competitions

With the course in fine condition and ready to recommence the competition season after the coronavirus pandemic members at Weston super Mare got off to a fine start with some excellent results. With attention focused on safe play at all times members have returned with great enthusiasm after having an initial warm up period of friendly golf since restrictions were eased in mid May.

The first weekend ladies competition at Weston super Mare Golf Club on Saturday 27th June was an EG Medal.
In first place with a nett 74 was Bobby Ferrari who had a handicap reduction to 20, in second place with 78 was Claire Redwood and third place Pam Hudson with 79.
Claire also had a two on the third hole and Zena Balcombe scored a two on the 14th hole.

The Closed Competition on Tuesday 30th June features four cups within the competition of the day.
Margaret Buckley Cup for best gross score - Glenda Latham-Creasey - gross 80 who scored the only two of the day on the 3rd hole.

Jenny Carter Toast Rack for best nett Silver - Glenda Latham-Creasey - nett 73. Runner Up was Sue Stilwell with nett 75 (on countback).

Margaret Buckley Cup for best nett Bronze – Julie Ward - nett 75. Runner Up was Cathy Preston with nett 76 (on countback).

Congratulations also go to Julia Wood who won the Happy Bunny Competition with a nett 80 ( best Medal round played for handicaps 36 to 54).

Gillian Quick won the Nine Hole Qualifying Stableford with 19 points. Runner up was Katrena Thomas with 18 points.
Winning the earlier club wide stableford on 24th June was Lady President Jan Bishop with a fantastic 41 points and was cut from 18 to 17 handicap. @ Weston super Mare Golf Club
