The Inter-Regional Championships 2026 has come to an end.

It’s always one of the best weekends in the volleyball calendar and this one was no different. Our club was well represented with some born and bred through the club and some that have joined us for at least a season in national junior competitions.

For our region, the South West, the girls kicked the competition off on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily, Tali was able to join us for our group picture.

The U17s beat Wales in their placing match after a tough round of pool fixtures that didn’t go their way.

The U15s missed out on a semi final spot by a whisker, but battled brilliantly throughout.

The boys then took to the stage on Sunday and Monday.

The U17s, with our club proudly represented by Tali, finished 2nd. Their final was a battle that deserved a third set, but ultimately the South West just fell short. A well earned silver medal.

The U15 boys went and won gold. They stopped the 4 competition streams being dominated by London and show promising signs for volleyball in the region moving forward.

The club have had a brilliant weekend down in Plymouth for the 2025/26 season SW Champs.

The women took several wins, and just missed out on a semi-final spot. The men took home the plate trophy.

Ali was also awarded the SW regional league player of the match trophy, following a season of receiving the (joint) most nominations from opposition teams across the season.

It’s always a brilliant weekend where we can come together and finish off the season. Thank you to the organisers that work tirelessly to run an event like this. Next season, hopefully there’s the scope to return to a single venue.

Two cracking weekends down in Exeter, competing in the Exeter Challenge.

The men kicked things off last weekend, finishing third place after going 4 from 5 in the pools, before falling short in the semi-final to a bunch of teenagers. They gathered themselves against Kernow in the 3rd/4th place play off to finish with 🥉

The women went one better. After cruising the pool stage unbeaten and running away with the semi-final, they met a re-gathered Wootton Bassett side that we beat in the pool stage, but couldn’t repeat it and they got revenge on us - we come away with 🥈

Always an exciting day in the volleyball calendar down here in Weymouth. The next generation showing what they’re about 💪🏽

Current and former Weymouth players that are now competing in the top leagues, and for the national team, started in this very competition format.

Who knows what the future holds? 🙏🏼

A massive well done to all the players that took part and hopefully we can continue to get more young people involved next season.
