Dorset Lure Centre We supply fishing tackle locally and nationwide for Shore, Boat and lure anglers.

Chesil Bait 'n' Tackle (Andy,Mandy,Gill & Mike) welcome you to our page. For those who dont know us we are a fairly newly established tackle shop (opened march 2011) located between weymouth & portland. We are working hard to supply quality bait & tackle which based on our location is primarily aimed towards shore, boat & modern lure fishing (bass,HRF,LRF). Please feel free to post any photos of recent fishing triumphs, useful info and tips you may wish to share.

2026 Weymouth Annual Squid Festival 🦑

Hi guys just another quick reminder of next weekends festival timeline :

Friday 25th -

Kick off at 10am at Dorset Lure Centre with ample time for help and advice and grab a coffee and to sign on for the whole event.

12-4pm Paul Quagliana will be attending to give his help and advice and offering a book signing for anyone with a copy of his book (also available to purchase on the day)

6pm-10pm out social event down at stone pier where our own Paul and admin will be on hand with hints tips and advice.

Saturday 26th -

Boat Competition starts at 7.30am will all competitors to meet at North Entrance for a start picture etc. MMD Lure Fishing Charters can be contacted for a trip between 7am-11am (4 spaces available) competition ends at 4pm

Paul will be back in the shop at around 12 midday for more help and advice until 4pm.

Shore competition starts with everyone meeting at the Nothe Fort car park for 5.45pm The big off at 6pm with fishing to end at 1am Sunday morning.

Sunday 27th -

“Weigh in” opens at 12 midday at The Wyke Smugglers until 1.30pm with results all in by 2pm

It’s not often we see our Bait man Shane smile but these fresh Welsh black lug definitely put a smile on his face this morning when they dropped in!!
