After a weekend off last week, the boys travelled over to Birstall for an early kick-off in what proved to be a tough and competitive game.

The Pumas started brightly, creating several chances before taking the lead midway through the first half with a well-worked goal on the break. Birstall proved to be a stubborn side to break down, creating opportunities of their own before scoring twice in quick succession to take the lead into half-time.

Birstall continued where they left off after the break, growing into the game, defending resolutely and limiting the Pumas’ opportunities. They also added to their tally to put the game out of reach.

With another weekend off ahead, it’s time for the lads to regroup and go again when we take on Anstey Nomads in a few weeks’ time ⚽️🌳🌳

A tough one for the Pumas this morning over in Coalville, in what was a good battle from start to finish. The boys started brightly, moving the ball well, creating chances and showing plenty of attacking intent. Their hard work paid off as they built a deserved lead, with one goal coming from a superb free kick and another from close range. Coalville responded with a free kick of their own, edging themselves back into the game before half-time after some dangerous attacks.
The second half saw the Pumas hit the woodwork three times, but unfortunately they couldn’t add to their first-half advantage. Coalville, to their credit, stuck at it, made life difficult for the lads and added to their tally with a few well-taken goals, proving hard to break down. It wasn’t quite the outcome we were looking for today, but the boys stuck at it right through to the final whistle.
Lots to build on and plenty of positives to take into next week’s home game against Ingles ⚽️🌳🌳

A clinical performance from the Pumas this morning against a hardworking Nirvana side who battled right until the final whistle.

The boys started fast and took an early lead, building on it as the first half progressed. They played some really good football, moving the ball well, creating plenty of opportunities and controlling the majority of the play. The Pumas continued to look dangerous going forward while working hard to limit Nirvana’s chances, although to their credit, they managed to pull a goal back just before half time.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with the Pumas continuing to have the better of the play, creating chances and showing a clinical edge in front of goal to strengthen their lead. Nirvana kept battling and added another well-taken goal, but the boys remained composed and continued to work hard right through to the final whistle ⚽️🌳🌳

We travelled over to Syston this morning to face Syston Town Scorpions in a tough and lively game.
The boys struggled to find their rhythm in the first half and found themselves a goal down after a well-worked Syston attack. The lads responded well, and managed to claw a goal back just before half time to go into the break level.
The second half was a much-improved performance, with the boys dominating large parts of the game, limiting Syston’s chances and creating plenty of opportunities of their own. Eventually, the pressure paid off as a great counter-attack led to a well-taken goal to put the boys ahead.
Unfortunately, Syston hit back soon after with a breakaway goal of their own to level the game.
All in all, the boys deserved more from the game after a great second-half display, but we learn, improve and go again next week at home against Nirvana! ⚽️🌳🌳

A winning start to the season for the Pumas this morning at home, against Wigston Willow. Although we weren't at our best, the boys put in a good shift, scored some well worked goals and got the job done 👏🏻

Top performance from the lads tonight down at Aylestone Park. Played some great football, but more importantly worked together all over the field to score some good goals and keep a clean sheet ⬜️

Tough test for the Pumas this morning as they travelled over to Hinckley to take on Hinckley Titans U11s.
There was little to separate the sides in a competitive first half, with both teams playing some good football and testing the goalkeepers. Despite the Pumas creating chances, Hinckley managed to nick a goal against the run of play just before the break.
With no substitutes available, the Pumas battled hard in the second half as they looked to get themselves back into the game. As the boys began to tire, Hinckley found more space and applied further pressure, adding two goals to put the game beyond reach.
A tough but valuable test for the boys against an older side, and plenty to take away from the game.
Next up, we head to Aylestone Park on Wednesday evening for our final pre-season friendly ⚽️🌳🌳

After a summer of tournament near misses, the boys finally got over the line today in what was a fantastic performance at a very competitive and brilliantly run tournament at Beaumont Park.
It took a huge effort from the whole team and a real reflection of the work rate and commitment shown by every player to only concede once throughout the day.
A brilliant way to continue our positive start to the new season 💪🏻⚽️🌳🌳

The boys kicked off pre-season last week with an away fixture at Beaumont Park, putting in a solid performance. They took that into this morning’s game at Ingles which was a great competitive game.
The opening half was closely fought with both sides creating some good opportunities. Both goalkeepers were called upon to make some excellent saves, ensuring the scores were level going into half time.
The second half saw the Pumas step things up and the boys increased the pressure, moved the ball with greater purpose and began to find more space in the final third. They were much more clinical in front of goal, turning their pressure and chances into some really well-taken goals to get the result they deserved.
Next week we head over to Beaumont Park for our first tournament of the season 💪🏻⚽️🌳🌳
