UK Youth Development League Lower Age Group – Northern League Division 1, Match 2

Our Under 14 and Under 16 teams competed in the second fixture of this season’s four-match campaign at Cleckheaton.

Despite being short of athletes for this fixture, the 25 club athletes who represented us put in a fantastic effort across a wide range of events and successfully retained 4th place overall after two matches.

League standings after two fixtures:

1st Leeds City AC – 13 league points, 1075 match points
2nd Wakefield – 12 league points, 1065 match points
3rd City of Sheffield – 11 league points, 976 match points
4th Rotherham – 6 league points, 674 match points
5th Doncaster – 6 league points, 660 match points
6th Spenborough – 6 league points, 622 match points
7th Scunthorpe – 2 league points, 515 match points

There were some outstanding performances from our athletes:

⭐ Edward Rose won the U16 Boys 800m in a new personal best of 2:02.9.
⭐ Lola Rose Hughes won the U16 Girls 800m in 2:32.0.
⭐ Ella Paish-Plunket won all three of her throwing events and achieved a new PB in the javelin.

We also saw excellent performances from some of our newer athletes:

⭐ Gabrielle Slater won the U14 Girls 200m B race and finished 2nd in the 100m B race.
⭐ Poppy Brailsford secured 2nd place in the U14 Girls 800m.
⭐ Bella Lowry won the U14 Girls Long Jump B competition.

A huge thank you to all our athletes for their commitment, versatility and determination throughout the day. Special thanks also go to Karen Wilson and Millie Powell for their hard work in managing the team.

Finally, we would like to thank Bartec Municipal Technologies for their continued support and sponsorship of the team T-shirts.

Well done to everyone involved ! We look forward to Match 3!

KMR 2026 – Race 2: Scholes Coppice 🌲🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Our first KMR race of 2026 and the second race in this year’s series took you to Scholes Coppice, where 131 runners enjoyed a fantastic evening of woodland climbs and the iconic Keppel’s Column.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time to make the event happen and ensure everyone had a safe and enjoyable race. Your support behind the scenes is always appreciated.

Another big thank you goes to Drew at KMR Photography for capturing the evening so brilliantly. Make sure you check out his page to see the full gallery from the race. We’ve shared a selection of his photos here, along with some of our own Harriers in action.
