Today was the final of the Moreton Cup at Longmeadow, with Andover playing Oakley, congratulations on both teams getting to the final πŸ‘

Having already beaten Andover in the earlier round robin group, Oakley had a convincing win today in the final, to regain the trophy, which they last won 19 years ago, in 2007.

Well done to Oakley :- Mary Varndell, Hugh Aherne, Sean Lassman, Malcolm Grime, Peter Pearce, Rolf Denny, Steve Devonish and Martin Vickers.

A big thank you to everyone that has helped on each Sunday, but special thanks go to Mick Corden for his excellent organisation, who has tirelessly kept this competition going. πŸ‘

Yesterday was the Finals Day at Longmeadow, with 7 finals being played throughout the day. All games produced some great bowls and were worthy finals. Congratulations to everyone who took part, the results are detailed below πŸ‘ It was lovely to see some new names in the finals this year, and hopefully that will encourage more members to take part next year, and thanks to everybody that came to support, much appreciated πŸ‘

Big thanks go to our President Elainne Piper, for helping the day run smoothly, Cynthia Hamilton, Jackie Kingston & Dave Bradbury for marking the singles games, and Sue Milton for all her support throughout the season.

All trophies will be engraved and presented to winners during the AGM on 27th April @ 7, would be great to see as many members as possible attending the AGM.

The indoor season will soon be concluding, enjoy any games you have left, and I will hopefully see you on the green outdoors soon πŸ˜€

On Saturday, 16 members took part in the first mini singles tournament. Playing 4 games of 6 ends followed by semifinal and final.

All the games were well fought with only 1 player winning all 4. The semifinalists were Nick Rogers, James Cushen, Elainne Piper and Dave Godfrey. Both games were close with James and Dave going through to the final. Once again this proved a very close contest eventually being won by James Cushen. We'll done James.πŸ†
We would like to thank the volunteers who marked throughout the day and Linda Hayward and Steve Baker who assisted with the semis and final.

A great day was definitely had by all. we very much look forward to the next one day competition which will be drawn pairs early in 2026.

Special thanks to Dave Bradbury for organising the day πŸ‘
