Today at Rowrah LGK IKR round 3 saw Asten battling for positions, some great driving standards and making some new friends.

Qualifying P3
Heat 1 started 3rd finished 4th
Heat 2 started 3rd finished 3rd
Final started 3rd finished 3rd

Heat 2 and the final were 2 of the best races between Asten and Aiden Donnelly, Asten was determined to take 2nd place in the final and for a couple of laps it looked like he would but Aiden got back past and took the 2nd step on the podium.

So Teesside 2 weeks ago round 6 of the NRG sprint series saw Asten qualify 6th out of a grid of 20 Cadets, best qualifying at Teeside yet!
Due to someone reviewing a penalty during qualifying Asten started heat 1 in 5th:

Practice fastest lap
Heat 1 started 5th finished 6th
Heat 2 started 6th finished 6th
Heat 3 started 6th finished 6th
Final started 6th finished 6th

His driving was outstanding all weekend and we were very proud, even the commentators noticed his improvement which resulted in him receiving the Driver of the Weekend award!

Round 3 complete and we get to do it all again tomorrow!!

I was racing today with a new sticker in memory of my friends Grandfather Niven Hutton who sadly passed and loved nothing more than to watch his grandson Abel karting, I think he would have been proud of today’s battles on track ❤️
