Waking up stiff?
Shoulders tight for no reason?
Hips grumpy?
Hands sore in the morning?
More muscle pain after workouts than you used to get?
If you're in your 40's, 50's or beyond and noticing more stiffness, niggles or deep muscular aches - you're not imagining it.
So why do you feel achy?
Hormonal shifts (particularly fluctuating and declining oestrogen) don't just affect mood and sleep, they influence joints, connective tissue, pain sensitivity, recovery and how your nervous system processes pain.
The result? Your body can feel very different to how it did a few years ago.
You're not 'falling apart'', your body is adapting.
So how can massage help?
* Reducing muscle tension
* Supporting circulation
* Easing joint stiffness
* Calming an overactive nervous system
* Improving recovery
* Helping you sleep more deeply
If your aches and pains feel new harder to shift.... it might be time to work with your body not against it.

Today is World Poetry Day, so I thought I would share a poem one of my lovely client wrote for me recently.
There's not a day goes by that I don't feel blessed to be meeting such wonderful peeps.

🚨 Attention husbands, sons and last-minute shoppers (maybe the odd daughter here and there) 🚨
Mother's Day is approaching.
This is the part where you normally:
1️⃣ Remember on Sunday morning.
2️⃣ Panic
3️⃣ Buy flowers and chocolates from the nearest shop.
Meanwhile mum is running on:
1️⃣ 4 hours sleep
2️⃣ Tight Shoulders
3️⃣ 20+ years of carrying everyone else's stress.
This year, try something revolutionary 💡
Giver her a massage voucher!
She get's to relax, her shoulders get fixed and she gets a full hour where nobody asks her where anything is.

Happy Monday Peeps!
Its propa baltic! ❄️
What comes with cold weather?.....shoulder and neck tension 🥶
With colder weather conditions, the body instinctively shrugs the shoulders to consvere heat and protect the neck, however this keeps your upper traps and neck muscles in constant low-level contraction.
Prolonged contraction reduces blood flow, leading to muscle fatigue and tension build-up.
Cold also reduces tissue elasticity, so tight muscles feel stiffer and more uncomfortable.
Over time, this pattern can contribute to neck pain, headaches, and restricted shoulder movement.
Most of us will be returning to work this week after the xmas period, returning to prolonged sitting positions and or repetitive movements.
Limited movement throughout the day reinforces poor postural patterns. Over time, this can lead to neck pain, shoulder stiffness, headaches, and reduced mobility
Regular movement breaks, postural awareness, and hands-on soft tissue therapy help reset muscle tone and support healthier working positions.
If you’re noticing ongoing tension, stiffness, or slower recovery, now is a good time to get booked in and address it before it becomes persistent.
How long till its Spring 🤔😜

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a lot of posts being aimed at symptom spotting and breast awareness, I wanted to take a moment to place the spot light onto the importance of attending your NHS breast screening invitations.
Recent annual NHS breast screening have reported that although more women are attending their screening appointments , 30% of women did not attend after invitation.
As some of you are already aware, during the summer, my first NHS breast screening picked up an early form of breast cancer, I had no symptoms, no lump and felt completely fine.
When discussing this with my breast consultant, I was advised it could have been another 2-3 years before I was able to feel a 'lump'
It was found, because I went for my screening, that early detection has meant my treatment could happen before things could develop further.
I know it's easy to put it off - especially when life feels busy or you feel well - but please don't delay/forget about your appointment when that letter comes through.
For anyone who may be feeling nervous/apprehensive, about attending, I found the process to be quick ( I went to a mobile unit for my initial screening appointment and was in/out and back in the car in under 10 minutes) - If anyone has any questions about screening please feel free to drop me a message or pop into see me, my door is always open for a chat.
Remember to take time for your health.
