The piece de resistance of Xmas knitting was an Aran jumper for my mam. I haven't added a pic of her modelling it as she declined..she's not in FB. But it fitted beautifully and she wears the little hat I made all the time in the cold weather with a pretty scarf from h&m...

This is my first attempt at hand knit socks and short rows... I am addicted. I haven't finished them off yet but wanted to show you what they look like. I'm definitely going to knit some more. In fact I'm left with enough wool to knit another sock so 2 balls should make 3 pairs altogether!

And a little cowl using some left over double knitting... It has a pretty lacy pattern to it

I have been doing small projects running up to Christmas and beyond...
The hat is straightforward knit/purl rib using Yorkshire spinners 100% wool bought from my local wool shop. The next time I do it I am going to do it in a twisted rib, which I think will give it a different twist and is a neater stitch.
