PREDICTIONS UPDATE

With only the final to go it seems like most people are still very much in the hunt. Lots of people backing Kane to be top scorer and somehow he has bored his way up to the top table with a game to go...

Lots of people not backing England seems to have backfired... with only 3 people believing Gareth's boys could do it... and 1 for Spain (more on that later).

With Georgia and Turkey currently sitting on 8 goals conceded a 6-0 victory in the final will most likely give Tom MacCabe a victory with his England to be top scorers and Spain to concede the most double... although it looks very much likely that Craig McGeough's frankly baffling love of all things Spanish has put him in a strong position after backing them to be both top scorers and to win the whole thing.

Tom is also only 1 goal out on total goals and a 1-0 victory for either team in the final will see him pick up a massive 10 points for the correct number. After the group stages it was averaging 2.25 per match and we are pretty much still there.

We've had 8 penalties awarded by VAR, 4 red cards and 3 penalty shoot outs which pretty much means most people are in with a shout on all of those. Except Thomas Concannon with his 22 VAR pen absolutely mental guess.

PREDICTIONS UPDATE

After the group stages finished most people are still very much in the hunt. Although unsurprisingly no-one backed Georgia's Georges Mikautadze to be top scorer 🤣🤣🤣

Only 2 players correctly predicted the group order (both funnily enough called 'Andrew' - step forward Andrew Calvert and Andrew Clymer. Michael Harrison can count himself unlucky for Denmark getting 2nd ahead of Slovenia on a technicality.

No one has picked a team that has gone home... yet. Although anyone on the hard side of the draw will now be more worried than they were. Also after the boring England games I wonder if more people wished they'd taken them to get knocked out on pens (4/19 backed this).

After 81 goals in 36 matches. We are currently averaging 2.25 per match. That would give a final total of 115 which is the exact number Tom MacCabe has given so he'll be hoping nothing changes in the knock-outs.

We've had 6 penalties awarded by VAR (https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/40340965/euro-2024-var-review-every-decision-germany-analysed) already knocking out 7 players (my guess of 3 has well gone but Thomas Concannon's amazingly bold 22 is still active 🤣).
