Leadership announced for the 2026/27 season.

We are delighted to confirm that Niall Stokes will lead the club as 1st Team Captain, with Kieran Tweedy appointed as 1st Team Vice Captain.

Both players embody the commitment, standards and passion that define Whitley Bay Rockcliff RFC, and we look forward to seeing them lead the squad this season.

Our neighbours at Marden Bridge Middle School are hosting a charity football match to raise money in memory of James Black. There is also a raffle with some great prizes. A special mention to our nominated Unsung Heroes:

👏 Adam Jeffrey, Lindsay Hill & David Hill – for their incredible work with our U6s, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can enjoy rugby.

👏 Simon Tindall – for his dedication to our U15s, supporting player development, welfare and progression both on and off the pitch.

👏 Tony Hansen – recognised for more than a decade of coaching and helping countless young players successfully transition into senior rugby.

👏 Eric Brooks – for his tireless behind-the-scenes work, including the successful return of the Super 10s tournament, preserving club history and keeping members connected through his match reporting.

👏 Wayne Beckett – a true club person whose contribution spans coaching, playing, walking rugby, maintenance and supporting every corner of the club.

It was also a great night for our Women's & Girls section, with our Women's team receiving their Women's NC3 North league winners trophy and our U16 Girls being presented with their Development League winners trophy following a fantastic season.

Congratulations to all of our nominees, players and volunteers. Your commitment, passion and hard work are what make Rockcliff such a special club. ❤️💛

This weekend a party from Rockcliff Rugby Club are undertaking the 3rd bi-annual trip to the Western Front Battlefields of Northern France & Belgium. Two previous tours, in 2022 & 2024, saw the graves/memorials of 11 of our club members who fought and died during WW1 visited, with short ceremonies of thanks and remembrance paid at each site. On this year’s tour visits will be made to the final resting place of the remaining 3 members not yet honoured by the club, ensuring that Rockcliff will have fulfilled its commitment to visit them all. Huge congratulations to our Roses selected to play for Northumberland RFU this Sunday at Rockcliff Rugby Club.

First up at 12.30pm is the County Development Team v Presidents Invitational, including Abbie, Alyx and Eva. Followed by County v Yorkshire at 2.30pm, involving Brooke, Adelle and Caitlin.
