We need a couple more marshals and some scanners to make Sunday’s event possible. We have a takeover from Appletree Gardens First School so need some extra hi-vis heroes this weekend. Thanks!

❤️ Supporting Our Event ❤️

Hello everyone,

Many of our regulars will have noticed that some of our equipment is starting to show its age. From our finish tokens to our megaphone and even our trusty flag, a number of essential items now need replacing.

Keeping our event safe, well-organised and enjoyable for all our junior runners does come at a cost, and we are encouraged to raise funds locally to support this.

If you'd like to help, there is a simple way to donate to OUR event, rather than to parkrun centrally. Just head to the "About Us" section on the Whitley Bay Junior Parkrun webpage and follow the "donate to this event" link (see image below).

Your donations will help us to:

🥳 Purchase a new flag
🥳 Replace our ageing megaphone
🥳 Renew worn or missing tokens
🥳 Overhaul our first aid kit
🥳 And support other essential improvements

We'll also have a sign at the event with a QR code linking directly to the About Us page, so please keep an eye out for that on Sunday if you'd prefer to donate that way.

after an incredible event last Sunday, we still need a few more marshalls to make this Sundays event possible. Also, we have quite a few tokens missing after last week, so if anyone has any to return please bring them along on Sunday.

Well the results are in (sorry if we’re missing some it was a bit fraught at the end there!) we had so many runners we ran out of tokens!!! From what we can see our amazing turnout of 442 runners thanks to the Marine Park First School takeover as well many others this morning is potentially a world record for Junior Park Run! We’re just waiting to find out for sure 🥳 Thank you to every single young runner and their grown ups what a great atmosphere! We had 46 volunteers today keeping you all safe some even dragged in at the last minute! We couldn’t do it without you all thanks so much! Bring on the next one. Thank you to everyone who came along to the Marine Park takeover this morning at over 400 runners it was a record! That has brought with it some challenges which means the results won’t be processed until later on today! Thanks so much to all the volunteers who make the event possible!
